S I X years of marriage ❤️ . . . Our goal for 2020 was to get settled back at home again, and well... Here we all are 🏠 The irony is not lost on me! . . . Hi there, February 👋🏻 So I kicked off 2020 with an accidental Instagram hiatus 😆 January was quite the whirlwind, and posting definitely went on the back burner! . . . Some exciting things are happening over here that I’ll share in the coming weeks, but in the meantime here’s a snap from the holidays in Minturn, one of my favorite spots in the Vail Valley. This old mining town tucked between Vail and Beaver Creek is a nice breath of fresh air from the more formal ski village atmospheres. If you make it to Minturn, don’t miss these spots: . . - @minturnsaloon for margaritas 🍹John Wayne himself used to hang out here! - @sunriseminturn for 🥑 toast and amazing coffee ☕️ - Holy Toledo! for vintage ski finds 🎿 - @minturncountryclub to grill your own steak... just take my word for it! . . . Where did the time go, and am I where I thought I'd be? ⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ The years take some crazy turns - particularly these last two 😜 Life is short, but it's also a gift, so today I'm taking a moment to send some extra gratitude out into the universe. Friend: I’m moving to New York! Me: Great! My flight lands at 7 pm 😂 . . . . I’m off to the Big Apple for a girls weekend and to visit some of the city’s newest residents! Check Google Flights first, but don’t forget about @SkyScanner. It’s often cheaper and allows you to still book directly through the airline. . . . 3. You have 24 hours to change your mind after you book it. By law, airlines are required to give you a full refund - no questions asked - if you want to cancel it. So if you see a great deal, go ahead and pull the trigger! . . . 4. Always join the loyalty program, even if you don’t fly that airline often. If there’s ever a major delay or issue from weather, they’re less likely to treat you like a second class citizen. Speaking of... . . . 5. When in doubt, ask for points. Travel tip #576: Always pack eye drops 👁 . . . . Even though I don’t wear contacts, I’ve learned the hard way to always keep eye drops handy in my backpack when we’re traveling... especially on hiking trips. You never know what kind of conditions you’ll encounter, and dry, dusty terrain can leave you very squinting after a long day outdoors! . . . . This day was no exception- when we arrived to the beautiful Salineras de Maras perched high above the Sacred Valley it was SO windy! Imagine the residue from the more than 5,000 salt evaporation pools, blowing in all directions 🙈 But hey, at least I got that effortlessly wind blown look for the photos 🤷🏼♀️😆 . . . . Tell me - what’s the one random thing you always pack on trips?

We ended up at Tipon on accident. After a snowstorm diverted our hike on the Salkantay Trek, we had a day to kill and asked our guide to take us to his favorite place. . . . . This less-visited Inca site is perched high overlooking the Sacred Valley, and the terraces became more impressive as we climbed up and up. If you’re heading to Peru, add this easy day trip from Cusco to your list! . . . . Travel tip: Visit the ruins then head down to the town to try cuy - guinea pig. What we know as the furry class pet from elementary school is a Peruvian delicacy that is served on special occasions. So what did it taste like? Chicken 😝 . . . .
