RESILIENCE was cropped off the top of this picture. You can help build the resilience of the children you encounter with small ongoing behaviours. Children who are resilient build a stronger sense of self and confidence in many areas. This also helps children to be LESS VULNERABLE to various forms of abuse or harm. As au pairs, don’t forget the amazing positive impact you can have in the lives of your host children. ☺️ #childprotectionweek2019 #aifsaupair #aifsaupairinaustralia #aupairinaustralia
What else is there to see and to do in Brisbane? When the weather is good, you can always go to Southbank to relax at the beach (Southbank is also the area where you can find lots of restaurants and there's a market every weekend). Picture 4 shows you the great view from Kangaroo Point. Furthermore Brisbane has a few museums(Queensland museum, Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art) which are free. There's also a Botanic Garden in the city and another great one more in the south.🌴 Once we did an Au Pair picnic which was great! Everyone brought something to eat and you can easily get in contact with new people. Every wednesday there's a good foodmarket next to the Queen Street Mall (this mall is Brisbane's shopping mall, so if you are bored, you can always go there🛍). I love this market, you can get a lot of fresh local fruits & vegetables, but there are also a lot of possibilities to grab lunch (including the German Bratwurst or German bakery😂😁). If you like going out, you must go to Fortitude Valley, it's an area full of bars and clubs and the nightlife is really good there🕺 #aifs#aifsaupair#aupairinaustralia#auswanderlust#aupairbrisbane#brisbane
A wet, but wonderful welcome to our Au Pair’s who arrived this week. They are from Germany, France, Sweden, the UK and the USA.
Hi Everyone! Next week is Child Protection Week in Australia. We are sending out some colouring stencils for your host children to take part in a competition via email. Please take this opportunity to remember how you can empower children by respecting their choices and being open to hearing what they are saying to you. #aifsaupair #aifsaupairinaustralia #childprotectionweek2019 #empoweringchildren #childwise #braveheartsprotectkids
When you are an Au Pair for 6months you get paid for a week off (9months=2weeks). I have decided to go to Fiji for this week and it was absolutely amazing!😍🏝 🌺 I was there with two other german girls who I have met on the flight to Sydney (AIFS). We spent the first two days on the mainland in Nadi in a hostel, but it's not as nice on the mainland as you'd think. Luckily someone told us that before, so we booked another accomodation on one of the smaller islands (Yasawa Islands) and there it was so beautiful, really like paradise😍😍 We could do stand up paddeling, kayaking or rent snorkel equipment for free, so we have seen a lot of fish or even a blue seastar🐟🐠 #aifs#aifsaupair#aupairaustralia#auswanderlust#aupairbrisbane#urlaub#fiji
Today I'm gonna show you what you could you with your hostkids. Most of the time they play or do some craft at home or go in the backyard. A few times I took the bus with one of them to the city and we went to the Queensland museum which is free (pic 1&2) or to Southbank (pic 3). Otherwise you can bake something at home(pic 4), go into a parc/feed some ducks (pic 5). In the winter holidays in July my older hostkid has seen snow for the first time (pic6&7), it was an event for kids at Southbank (22 degrees on this day😂😅). At home they can also play with sand or they like to put on coustumes(pic 8&10). Moreover we often go to a playground(pic 9). There's a lot to do with kids in Brisbane, especially for free, for example storytime at libraries or music activities in parcs. Just visit www.brisbanekids.com.au to find out more.
