£9443 raised of our £15000 target so far! We are really looking forward to our annual Fancy Dress 5k on Thursday July 4th (sunshine please)! We are raising funds for the refurbishment of one of our computer science classrooms, so if you are a parent, encourage your child to share their fundraising link with you. Students, send it to as many family and friends as possible (your link was emailed to you again this afternoon)! We really want to break that £15000 target! And don't forget, the student who raises the most wins a pair of the latest Beats Studio Pro Headphones! Boom!

Before half term and as part of our Year 12 Enrichment Programme, we had the honour of welcoming Tess Burrows who shared her inspiring journey with us, illustrating some of her remarkable achievements in the name of climate change and world peace. These include dragging a tyre to the summit of Kilimanjaro, making the epic 500-mile journey to the South Pole, reaching the North Pole, and climbing the highest peaks on our planet.

This inspiring session has left a lasting impact upon us all, leaving us motivated to take action, advocate for change, and act on the pledges we wrote during the session - Eco Prefects Annabelle, Amy and Ayushi.

These pledges made by every Year 12 present, have been collated and will be presented to World Leaders at COP29 in Azerbaijan later this year. The school will also be taking them to Borneo in July, to read them at the summit of Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Southeast Asia, reflecting Tess’s spirit of spreading climate awareness and world peace.

Yesterday afternoon our Young Enterprise team. @rootsyoungent, took part in the Regional Finals at Akeley Wood School in Buckingham, having progressed to this round by winning the local finals in March against a number of schools from Buckinghamshire. The students, from Year 12, have worked tirelessly throughout this academic year to bring their amazing product to life and were interviewed by a panel of judges, created an impressive report and accounts, and gave an awesome presentation to a packed audience.
After a nerve wracking 45 minutes waiting for the final verdict, the judges declared Roots to be the overall winner. The team will now progress to the National Finals on June 6th where they will compete against teams from all over the United Kingdom. Huge congratulations to our remarkable @youngenterpriseuk team!!
