What’s your favourite morning hot beverage? The perfect start to your day?⠀ ⠀ I’m a sucker for a hot chocolate – as seen here. But it has to be decent – only the good stuff is allowed in this house! 💯⠀ ⠀ As I settled back into a work routine today, hot choc was just one beverage aiding my transition back to the working world after my Xmas break.⠀ ⠀ Perhaps you’re a coffee person? Or maybe you prefer tea? ☕⠀ ⠀ I do love green tea, matcha lattes, a couple of herbal teas and the odd chai latte. But that’s my limit. 🍵⠀ ⠀ I’m afraid I’m not a coffee fan. I’ve tried – I LOVE the smell of coffee, I love coffee cake, coffee chocolate, and coffee sweets – but I can’t bear coffee itself! It’s just too bitter for me.⠀ ⠀ So which is your favourite? Do you have a favourite cosy outfit you like to lounge around in?⠀ ⠀ This is mine: a fluffy jumper and lounge pants.⠀ ⠀ It's a new year and I’ve welcomed some new faces, so I thought I’d stop by and say hi!⠀ ⠀ I’m Clare, your friendly neighbourhood family and pet photographer. I’m based in Bad Homburg, near Frankfurt, but was born and raised in friendly Yorkshire, UK.⠀ ⠀ So aside from lounging in my cosy gear, and photographing family members (fluffy or otherwise), what else do I get up to in my spare time?⠀ ⠀ Well, here are 5 other fascinating facts about me:⠀ ⠀ 1) I love a good brunch. Somewhere that serves matcha lattes and good patisserie is a bonus – or a must, depending on what mood I’m in! I’ve really missed this during 2020 – I’m looking forward to enjoying this again with friends some time in 2021. 🤞🏻⠀ ⠀ 2) Chocolate is my second love (after my husband). As you can see in this photo, I’m holding a luxury hot chocolate.⠀ ⠀ 3) My third love is Keanu Reeves (my husband knows about this, it’s okay). My favourite Keanu film is Point Break (John Wick follows closely behind). But he has to have a beard and long hair nowadays! 😜⠀ ⠀ 4) I’ve jumped out of a plane at 12,000ft over Lake Taupo in New Zealand. Mount Doom from the Lord of the Rings films was the backdrop. It was the BEST thing I’ve ever done. I’ve also surfed in Australia.⠀ ⠀ 5) I’m a certified Usui Reiki Master and crystal healer. Only a few more days left of 2020. And we’re all ready to breathe a sigh of relief, eh?⠀ ⠀ And what a year! It has possibly been one of the toughest years ever. ⠀ ⠀ But let’s focus on what we can be grateful for this year. Im grateful to everyone who followed me and liked my posts this year - here are my top nine.⠀ ⠀ I think another thing to be grateful for is not catching COVID_19!⠀ ⠀ The third thing is that I have been able to complete a limited number of photo shoots this year. I’m very grateful to those wonderful clients who trusted me to host socially distanced sessions for them.⠀ ⠀ I’m also grateful I was able to launch my first relaxing art print collection, with 10% from every sale going to mental health charity Mind (link in bio).⠀ ⠀ And I’m also grateful to my husband for sheltering the storm with me, and helping me shield - taking every precaution possible to prevent either of us getting infected (I have an underlying health condition and cannot afford to catch the virus). ⠀ ⠀ So let’s reflect and be grateful.⠀ ⠀ But just because a new year is looming, doesn’t mean we should stop being careful or respectful of others.⠀ ⠀ The pandemic is still out there - so we all still need to take responsibility and take precautions. Even if there is a vaccine – that doesn’t mean we should stop distancing, wearing a mask/visor or washing our hands. ⠀ ⠀ Otherwise we will still be in the same situation next Christmas. And nobody wants that. It will take a long time before things get back to any kind of ‘normal’.⠀ ⠀ So what are you thankful for this year?
