Serial Block Face Scanning Electron Microscopy (SBF-SEM) movie

In this study, we and the Soldati lab combined dual RNA-seq with advanced imaging to uncover how intracellular compartmentalization drives niche-specific metabolic phenotypes in mycobacteria.

We carried out the two weeks practical module at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB). The title was 'Molecular Master Thieves' including an excursion to @fzborstel.

The movie shows a TRITC-labelled yeast (red) particle-containing phagosome maturing into a phagolysosome by the delivery of LAMP1 (green) by lysosomal fusion in human macrophage.
The movie was acquired with @nikoneurope spinning disc microscope.
