Today brought one (3) small step(s) for woman, one giant leap for womankind. Great timing after Daddy got home from work to see it all unfold with @daniellenoyesweather, and yes, we were both wearing antlers at the time. Always something astounding about witnessing first steps.
An absolutely stunning winter sunset Tuesday evening over the new fallen snow from the beautiful Basiliere Bridge in the @cityofhaverhill. I hope you had an equally breathtaking view where you were.
A team of incredible, educated, dedicated meteorologists means the forecast is always in good hands...as snow bears down, some steer the ship so others can pick out a family tree with peace of mind. Thanks Team - Happy to carry my share in the AM!
Back to the old routine for the first time in awhile...snow on the way for Southern New England. I spent the day in the yard getting everything ready for our New-England-official start to winter...snow! @chris.gloninger has the latest update this evening on @nbc10boston & @necntv. Here in the Noyes household, I worked Thanksgiving so today was our day before Thanksgiving...we’ll celebrate tomorrow...& I’ll do my best to disconnect with a snowstorm en route. Let’s see how well I do lol - you can bet @daniellenoyesweather will hide my phone while we eat!😝
This morning on @nbc10boston I explained the setup favoring a storm Sunday that very well may impact travel home for folks, mo matter rain or snow with coastal wind - any of that would slow travel. As always, I made sure to add the very honest note that rain/snow line placement - and even how much of the storm we get into - 5 days out is not going to be accurate, but there are some things we can do before Sunday (or before going away for the weekend) juuuuuust in case it snows: Start up the snowblower now - make sure it works! You may have a favorite small engine repair shop and you want to be sure they can look at it if needed, considering holiday hours may be different. Driveway snow stakes: if you’re going away, might as well put them in just in case, isn’t going to hurt. Better than coming home Sunday and doing it if it’s snowing out. Holiday lights: if you’re around this weekend and the forecast ends up looking like snow, it’ll be chilly but you’ll have a couple of days Friday and Saturday you could string the lights if need be. Stay updated: even (especially) if you’re traveling, you can keep tabs on our First Alert forecast. Download the @nbc10boston app for the Boston area from Central NH to Cape Cod, the @necntv app for all of New England, or the Matt Noyes app for links to my videos, blog posts and the like. What I love about our station apps is you can be anywhere and see the latest broadcast video forecast from our team, so you’ll know how the forecast changes as we get closer to Sunday. My instinct on this one? Cold air Fri/Sat increases the chance for a widespread burst of light accumulations of snow when the system starts up Sunday, but lack of a fortifying north wind probably means 50° ocean water and an east wind ends up pushing any rain/snow line inland to or beyond 495. But again...that’s just instinct from the way it looks 5 days out. Big things can shuffle around, I’ll be on air Wednesday and Thursday mornings with updates.
Early Thursday Morning *black ice* is developing, including throughout Southern New England - be careful! Latest on @nbc10boston and @necntv all morning.
Good morning! I have more weather on @nbc10boston this AM than you can shake a stick at! The only 10-day in Boston TV means we’re the only place you’ll find the Veterans Day forecast...plus, my monthly forecast is out for November. Snowflakes later this week? See you on-air, NOW!
It’s 32° on the soccer field this morning but with the sun it feels like at least 36°! 😂 Thick frost on crunchy grass when the game began.
Frost on the pumpkin? How about snow on the trails! @sundayriver fired up 192 snow guns on 8 trails today with the cold start. With even colder weather by the end of next week in our exclusive @necntv 10day for New England and @NBC10Boston 10day for Boston, expect more of this!
Friday Night Lights sure has classic football chill tonight! Welcome, November...next Friday night should be about 10 degrees colder than tonight if our @nbc10boston 10 day is correct...need more layers!
Spent the last several hours after finishing up the morning shows testing out our newest @stormrangernbc deployment location. Awesome spot. Who wants to guess where it is? The background really helps limit the choices LOL! You’ll see it soon live on @nbc10boston @necntv @telemundoni!
Nor’easter, nor’easter, nor’
! Thanks to Santa Claus for my wife’s tickets tonight, thanks to @daniellewbz4 for bringing me and thanks to @michaelpagewx for covering me tomorrow so we can be here! Great opener by @MaddieandTae!
Little league ball in autumnal shadows, crisp air and beneath the first quarter moon (far left of sky). A couple of weeks ago it was 90° on the field! New England fall has a little something for all of us.
Wheels up! @aaronnbcboston and I are Philly-bound, meeting @deniseisaacwx to represent @nbc10boston at the annual @nbcuniversal Weather Summit. So lucky to work at a media company that not only takes weather seriously, but gets us together for best practices and brainstorming!
The girls and @daniellewbz4 are sick and already in bed at 7:30 and my little man is using fear of EEE as his reason to need to head in and play Xbox before bed. 😂 So I watch this fire dwindle to embers as I solitarily and perhaps selfishly try to squeeze the last few drops out of our lingering summer evenings...with @officialnsr from @kennychesney and a serenade of crickets seemingly more than happy to assist in savoring this fine September moment.
This afternoon @sethmoulton stopped by @nbc10boston and @necntv for an interview...now, since we rowed together at @phillipsacademy and since @bshactman is a proud @phillipsexeter grad - our big school rival - I had to be sure Seth and I gave him something he can wear to show his support for “Big Blue” 😂 - we signed his brand new Andover cap for him. Wear it with pride, Brian! Brian will have more Big Blue Pride and, I don’t know, he’ll probably talk some politics 😉this (Friday) evening at 7pm on NECN.
Together again! @sethmoulton stopped by @necntv & @nbc10boston to share some time with @bshactman for the #NECNPrimary show airing this evening, 7 PM on NECN. For me, a chance to reunite with my @phillipsacademy @andovercrew boatmate - great memories rowing on the Merrimack.
“Thar She Blows!” Or at least, there’s Dorian, seen on our app, trucking along to the northeast and making its closest pass early tomorrow AM. I hope you can tune in tomorrow: Yours Truly is looking forward to bringing you analysis on @nbc10boston and @necntv with @michaelpagewx as it passes, starting at 5am. Spent many hours in our weather center creating real-time analysis products, some of which you’ll likely be seeing used for the first time tomorrow AM. Of course, @stormrangernbc mobile Doppler Radar is already one-of-a-kind - in our app add the “live radar” layer in the map in the weather section to see it.
What a wonderful celebration of love with @daniellewbz4’s lifelong friend (and, now, I’m happy to say my friend of many years!) @beckymotivates and husband Ryan as they begin a new life together.
There’s always the temptation to crop this #datenight photo with @daniellewbz4, but that would be totally disingenuous - real date night for parents of three consists of a backdrop exactly like this. And it was the best backdrop in the house we could find - well, because we didn’t have the energy to walk to the other side of the hallway, so...”whatever, this looks good.”😂❤️🤪
