EEASC's Western Section Director, Laura Thomas, has an artist's eye and an adventurer's spirit. Having served in Guinea, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer and lived/worked abroad in Japan, Thomas currently serves as an instructor at the Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville, SC where she enjoys leading education-based environmental programs. Thomas is also a talented photographer and helps capture EEASC's events on camera. Thomas was elected to the board of EEASC in 2015 and has served as one of EEASC's Southeastern Environmental Education Alliance representatives, led EEASC's first online fundraiser in 2019, and recently began editing EEASC's e-newsletter. Now, life is taking her on another adventure: she and her family will be moving to a new town, in a new state, later this summer. We are going to miss her service and leadership, but we wish her all the best as she begins this new chapter. We appreciate your service, Laura! -The EEASC Board
