  • With "Moon Kids" I went against my usual nature and ended up writing something more fun and upbeat. It's kind of about being young, pursuing your passions, and maybe even chasing after love. . THIS ONE TOOK A LOT OF WORK. Maybe I'm just not used to making positive vibes, but we worked our tiny buns off getting this song to sound right. Even after it was all recorded, there was a constant back and forth between me, @smashhappymusic, and @stongethomas adjusting details and trying some different things. I guess I have a thing for sad songs since it's about the end of a relationship and knowing that it was your own fault. . @stongethomas and @eder.garzona worked together to whip up the really cool drum track that carries the tune, the talented @andrewrbgal got busy with the organ, and @craigmoleski dropped in to lay down some licks too.   • "Carry On" is one of the first songs we wrote as a band and I think it really helped us find our "sound". I remember bringing the riff and an idea for the verse to the band and saying, "does this seem like something? I dunno if it's good," and then we all worked together to flesh it out and write a neat song. It's truly a blessing to be in a band with some wonderful musicians. . When we were in the studio with @stongethomas, he was also acting as a producer and really helped us tune this song to fit on the album, as well as adding some cool synthy stuff here and there.   • When I first started writing this song, I thought it was a love song, but then my usual habbit of writing sad lyrics kicked in and said, "haha, no." In a way it still is, but definitely not a healthy one. We all make sacrifices for the ones we love, but please, never sell yourself short or hold yourself back as a means of keeping a relationship stable or pleasing someone else. . In the studio, we were joined by the talented @alex.barabe ! She agreed to lend her voice to the track even though I still hadn't written her part by the time she showed up to sing it!
