• Starting on Monday, February 1, the Town's contractor will be completing further repairs as a result of last week's broken water main at the intersection of Battie Drive and Davis Road.
The work involves the replacement of the hydrant and some drainage as well as reconstruction of the road base.
It's a big job and we require the closure of Battie Drive and Davis Road. Motorists travelling along Davis Road can expect single lane alternating traffic. Please watch for flaggers in the area.
We expect the work to be completed by mid-week.

  • Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for East Vancouver Island on Tuesday. Strong gusty winds that could reach 90 km/h are forecast for this morning and later into the evening hours.

Ladysmith’s trail system can present serious hazards during periods of inclement weather. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
We strongly advise members of the public to hold off using our local trail system when weather conditions deteriorate.

In the event of a trail closure due to weather, the Town posts public notices on our website and social media accounts. We may also post advisories at trailheads if it is safe to do so.

For the latest Public Weather Alerts, visit the Environment Canada website: https://weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html
