  • How is your love tank doing? Just as a car can’t function without gas, we can't function with an empty love tank. If we don't take the time to take care of ourselves, to love ourselves, we'll likely burn out because we are running on empty.

Refilling our love tank is crucial. Here are some of the ways that you can refill yours:

- Do a meditation
- Go for a walk
- Call a loved one
- Journal
- Take a nap
- Watch a tv show/movie
- Listen to music
- Do a workout

What would you add to our list?

  • There are many different types of love, but let's start by breaking down the differences between these 3:

Self Love: while this type of love seems internal, how you view yourself and how you appreciate yourself, it informs the dynamic we have with the world around us. How we see ourselves is how we will see the world. How the world occurs for us is a clear indicator to how much love we have for ourselves. For relationships to thrive, self love needs to be at its core, otherwise we will constantly be projecting that internal lack on everything and everyone we encounter.

Universal Love: we might think that this is at opposite ends of a spectrum from self love, but if we think multi-dimensionally they are adjacent. Ultimately, they are really the same. Universal love is the realization of union, interconnection, our love for everything, and everyone, in our universe. It is vast, complex and simple, and present in all that we do if we choose to listen for it.

Romantic Love: this type of love is reserved for certain people in our lives. It is intimate, intense and often passionate, and it is always interwoven with the people involved. How we show up in romantic relationships is a powerful mirror for areas we can grow and learn.

  • Once you trust and respect yourself, then you can extend it to others. Once you know yourself intimately and love yourself, then you can extend that love to others. Once you honor everything that you are, then you can extend that appreciation to others. It all starts by looking inward...

We can only give to others in direct proportion to our ability to give to ourselves.
