🌈Does your Sunday still feel like a Sunday? 😀At Ness we are usually buzzing with visitors on a Sunday afternoon having a pre or post Sunday dinner walk. Whilst taking today’s exercise quota, this beautiful Camellia was discovered in a front garden. It would be lovely to see your shared Sunday stroll discoveries and memories of @ness_gardens. 🌿🌺 Bonus points for identifying which Camellia it is??!! #nessbotanicgardens #camellias #lockdownactivities #homegardens #sundayvibes #lockdownstroll
🌈We really admire the work of the scouts and are thrilled that they have created some groovy ideas to get your own outdoor exploration happening indoors during this difficult time. 🌻 Those of you lucky enough to have some outdoor space have, I’m sure, been busy planting and tidying up the garden. . 🌱For those still after something to plant or start that veg plot you’ve been meaning to get round to, here is a message our nurseries supplier at Dovecote. . “Although the nursery is closed we are still able to take telephone orders and make deliveries. Please phone 0151 336 5748 for more information.” #growyourown #springplanting #lockdowngardening #nessbotanicgardens #dovecotenurseries #plantdeliveries
🌿Evening to all our faithful followers. We are beavering away behind the scenes to provide you with some snippets from the gardens and ideas for your own. Plus some little activities for you to do with the kids. Now you’ve got 5 minutes to yourself, the kids are finally asleep and you’ve cleared up the carnage of today’s lockdown activities. Check in with some our team here at Ness. 🌼🌼🌼🌼 🌳Becky and Rose (Ness Education Team) here. We are missing you all a lot right now. The sound of children playing and laughing or welly boots splashing 💦 just isn’t happening. We would love you to post any photos of fun times that your school or family had at Ness – this will make everyone 😊 We will post a few ideas to help you keep busy at home over the next few weeks. In the meantime, become really nosey (that is develop skills in observation … if you want to be a real scientist). Peep out of the window or hunt around in your yard/ garden (if you are lucky enough to have one). What animal and plants can you see? Draw them, photograph them, animate them? Post these pictures too. Today has been amazing … the sun was shining… get looking. Stay safe folks! 🌈 #nessbotanicgardens #botanicalgardens #lockdownactivities #springtime
Ness Botanic Gardens closed in response to Covid-19 Ness Botanic Gardens is now closed to all members of the public, including Members, until further notice. We have taken this difficult decision in the light of the most recent government guidance on restricting travel and social distancing. We wanted to keep the Gardens open as long as possible, but given the numbers anticipated for Mothers’ Day we feel we cannot now operate within guidelines with a reasonable degree of safety. We will seek to reopen as soon as we can, please keep checking our social media channels for further updates.
