Every year for the past 7 years we have supported the Safe Motherhood Project in Guatemala. These health care providers, from the Salmon Arm area, work to improve the care of pregnant women in the rural areas through education and medical supplies. This year the group will not be heading down to Guatemala due to the pandemic. However, their Guatemalan teammates are preparing to give some smaller group trainings starting next month using appropriate PPE, hand sanitizing, and other safety protocols. We are so proud to be able to help this project by donating 50 pounds of @CafeFemenino coffee. 100% of the profits from the sale of this coffee will go to the Safe Motherhood Project.

I lived in Kamloops and I could only find it in the downtown Coopers at that time. We snowbird to Mexico. The past 5 years I would buy a ton of Shuswap coffee, hide them all over the RV and make our way south. My addiction was satisfied until I ran out. We have since sold our property and business in Kamloops and we have now settled in Grand Forks and I will be making another order very soon. We have (prior covid) travelled the world. Your coffee is the “standard or measure” that I use in places like Europe, Costa Rica, etc. Your coffee beats any other product using my espresso machine. Perfect! Café Femenino cooperatives must provide their women farmers with access to a host of political and economic benefits, including: Legal rights to the land on which they farm. Leadership Positions within the Cooperatives. Financial and business decision-making power. Direct payment for their coffee, including a Café Femenino Premium. Shuswap Coffee is proud to support these cooperatives by purchasing the Fair Trade beans that these women grow and harvest!

We roast only Arabica coffee beans and most of our coffee is grown by women in Central/South America, in cooperatives called @CafeFemenino. They take great care in selecting only the best beans, which produce the most flavourful and aromatic coffees, and they are compensated fairly for their work.
