Since last March, I’ve followed these escalating hate crimes against Asians. I now remind my immigrant parents to “hide that they’re Asian” on grocery runs. They have experienced racism their whole lives and are unfazed OGs in the situation. Meanwhile I worry, process more stories, and then worry more. I’m looking over my shoulder on neighborhood walks in broad daylight. I cover my hair and face as a first level of “safety” against hate crimes, oh also COVID. I’m tired and until recently didn’t feel like having this convo in public. So I’m grateful to @stopaapihate, @kimsaira and others who have been sharing these stories. My fav author on the subject is @cathyparkhong. If you want to help, check the resources in the last pic and look out for AAPI hate in your own circles! 💛Anna

Have you heard about impact investing? One subset of impact investing is SRI, which is more actively managed. For Women's History Month, we wanted to highlight the @fidelity Women's Leadership Fund (FWOMX). It comes with a hefty 1% fee, but features companies that have leading women leaders on the management team, board of directors, or hiring policies. Top holdings include Microsoft, Disney, Anthem Health, Apple, Accenture, Paypal and more. Link in bio for info on FWOMX!

"Although it may not be glamorous going to a local, cheaper college or to a grad school that’s ranked a bit lower, in five years, when you have minimal to no loans, you’ll thank yourself." Link in bio for full interview!

Tanya believes in knowing your worth. For example, in 2019, she was offered a new job at $60k. After initially being unsuccessful with negotiating, she turned down the job. She enjoyed her current job and managed her money well, so she had the luxury of turning down what she felt was a mediocre offer. A few weeks later, they offered her the job again at $67k, and she took it.

Tanya works at a small law firm in Minneapolis. After 4.5 years working as a judicial clerk, she recently became an associate attorney. Although money is valuable, she keeps in mind the importance of money management and work load. A job causing stress and misery may not be worth the higher salary.

Flo graduated high school at 18 and earned an associate's degree before transferring to a university to complete her bachelor's in the same field. Transferring is a pain, but it's even worse when you move into a small program like interior design, instead of something such as business administration. Classes aren't offered year-round, so you have to wait until specific semesters to take them. Hence, she spent 3 additional years on her bachelor's. Link in bio!

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day! Our favorite part for the past few years has been adding to our growing list of punny pickup lines (finance edition). Sharing a couple of our all time favorites here, including both pickup and rejection lines 😉
