Our Y3/4 team of footballers played and came 3rd in a tournament for Hounslow schools at Gunnersbury Park. We are so proud of them. They were watched by one of our player’s uncles, Myles Peart-Harris, a professional footballer!! And he bought them all an icecream. Hedgerow Class enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Natural History Museum. We managed to tour the mammal hall, marine invertebrates, dinosaur exhibition and even look at some pretty special rocks and minerals. DAY THREE: We’re back from a cosy fire, marshmallow and hot chocolate session and running off the sugar rush in the play area.
Today’s activities included axe throwing, climbing and then we were all together for a forest adventure, where we scrambled through some thick woodland and then hiked through a stream, ending with mud Olymipcs. Yes, it was as wet as it sounds. Any hopes you may have had of unpacking bags without stinking wet clothes in should now be dashed! As we squleched back to the rooms, arguing about who was having the first shower, many of the children spoke about how fun it was and hiw happy they were they did it. These are the same children who two hours beforehand had refused point blank to go in the mud!

We have had such a fun day. Canoeing was a highlight for everyone and included a (volunatary, unless you were in Albert’s boat) swim.
People have been clipped to ropes and hanging around over all sorts of very high indeed equipment.
Dinner was hot dogs and chips, plus a side of being cajoled to eat salad.
All is well and the children will hopefully go to sleep earlier tonight after last night’s settling in.
The centre staff could not be nicer we are being so well looked after.
And, all rooms are tidy! The boys even mopped their floor.

We are all settled in!
The weather didn’t look promising on arrival but we’ve had blue skies all afternoon for team building, crate stacking and climbing. Downtime is spent playing football against other schools, or resting in their rooms.
We’ve had a nice dinner (salad bar wasn’t widely used..) and will shortly be off for an evening walk in the forest, followed by hot chocolate.
