Hi Tribe! 👋🏻For those of you who are new here, I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I was born in Greece and spent every summer there well into my 20s. I also lived in Athens for a couple of years between college and grad school. • My diet growing up consisted mostly of real foods based on the Mediterranean/Greek diet: fresh eggs, organic fruits and vegetables, yogurt with local honey, beans, grilled fish, lemon-roasted chicken, and lamb or pork braised into wonderful stews. It was what we have come to know now as the Paleo diet (which is a Greek word meaning ancient/old). • That changed when I became a vegetarian at the age of 15. In a quest to eat the healthiest way possible, I fueled my body with various protein supplements in the forms of powders made into shakes and protein bars on-the-go. I veered so far from my original wholesome nutrient-dense Greek/Paleo diet and my digestions took a toll. I was constantly bloated and tired. I experimented with a vegan diet for a while and even a raw foods diet in search for the best food combination to fuel my fitness and make me feel better again. • After studying Nutrition and realizing that the best diet is one made up of real foods with minimal, recognizable ingredients I returned to the diet that served me so well growing up. I incorporated high-quality animal meats back into my diet and have never felt better! • Weather you call it the Mediterranean/Greek diet, the Paleo diet or just the Real Foods diet – that’s what it is…food straight from the land and the sea, unaltered, unprocessed and as fresh as possible. What is the best way to open the patties? 🤔 Our suggestion is to use a kitchen shears to cut along the perimeter of the patty, pulling back on the clear side to expose the patty. Take your time, savor the aroma — once you have them open, the patties cook in just minutes! ✂️😋
