Lest We Forget

25 April ANZAC Day - the National day of commemoration of Australia and New Zealand for victims of war and for recognition of the role of their armed forces.

Introducing our long term client Daryl, a DVA war veteran who has been attending Physiotherapy sessions at Lifeway for many years. Daryl is jovial in nature and often shared stories of his army days with our team.

It is a yearly tradition that Daryl would pop by on the eve of ANZAC Day in his smart full uniform to say hi to our team, on his way to schools and community events as a guest speaker.

Our clinic will be closed on ANZAC Day tomorrow, Thursday 24th April 2024 and will resume on Friday 25th April 2024.

It was a great honour for our Lifeway team to meet Mr Theepan Balasubramaniam, Orthopaedic Surgeon at Victorian Orthopaedic Associates, specialising in lower limbs. Special thanks to Natalie, Regional GP Liason, for organising this PD session with Mr Theepan.

Mr Theepan shared invaluable information with our team on the latest skills and technology in foot and ankle surgeries.

Very often physiotherapists work very closely with the surgeons to determine rehabilitation programs for pre and post operative clients, their rate of recovery and long term goals.

Congratulations to our client Shalini for completing her GLA:D Program with us! 🎉🥳

Shalini has completed 12 sessions of GLA:D exercise classes under the close supervision of our physio team, monitoring her level of progression at each session. It is even more motivating and fun to be in the program together with her friend, Puneeta who is on to the second round of the GLA:D program.

Targeting specifically on knee and hip OA, Lifeway has successfully run this program for almost 5 years, with clients achieving good results upon completing the program and some clients returned for the second, third and even fourth round of the program.

The benefits reported were:

🍀 Reduced analgesic consumption
🍀 Reduction in perceived need for surgery
🍀 Clinically meaningful improvements in joint confidence
