4 years ago I said 'I do' to the most amazing man on this planet & to be quite honest, they've been a whirlwind!⠀ ⠀ From starting my business shortly after we got married, learning how to keep a marriage intact, building a house, getting a pup to having the most beautiful little baby boy..and every little thing in between.⠀ ⠀ He's been my number 1 fan and biggest cheerleader for me as a person and business owner.⠀ ⠀ He showed me what it meant to TRULY be loved by someone after I was in an abusive relationship for five years..something that I thought wasn't possible.⠀ ⠀ As you can imagine, I had a lot of trust issues because of that relationship BUT he broke down every single wall that I had and showed me that it is possible to find someone who loved me for me.⠀ ⠀ I can say without a doubt that our souls were meant to find each other and I couldn't imagine a more amazing man to spend my life with.⠀ ⠀ While there have been a lot of up's and down's along the way I wouldn't want to go through life with anyone else ❤️
Think you don't need a launch plan in your service-based biz? Think again...⠀ ⠀ There's this common misconception that launches are only necessary for coaches and passive product creators.⠀ ⠀ But that's not the case 🙅🏼♀️⠀ ⠀ Everything new thing that you release in your business should be treated as a launch.⠀ ⠀ I'm talking a new blog post, podcast episode, service, freebie (even though you should REALLY only have 1 of these)..etc⠀ ⠀ Now, you don't need a 14-day launch plan for every blog post BUT there needs to be an intentional strategy behind it.⠀ ⠀ Without the strategy, you're creating for the sake of creating..not with intention and focusing on what your ideal client ACTUALLY wants to hear, read and see.⠀ ⠀ The same thing goes for your services. Even if you're offering the same services over and over, you need to have a marketing & launch strategy in order to set yourself apart from the masses.⠀ ⠀ I've been in marketing for more than 10 years. I've seen first hand what happens to small businesses & massive, multi-million dollar corporations when they do & don't have a launch/marketing strategy.⠀ ⠀ If they don't, it's not pretty..but I won't get into the gory details with you 🤪⠀ ⠀ I've been creating marketing strategies for more than 10 years. ⠀ ⠀ This is what I know how to do REALLY freaking well and why my clients are so successful...because they have a detailed PLAN!😎⠀ ⠀ Listen, I know you're working really freaking hard on your business and I don't want your efforts to be in vain.⠀ ⠀ That's why I'm helping the six women that join The Service Sisterhood with their marketing/launch strategy for the rest of 2020. ⠀ ⠀ You have big goals for yourself and I'm going to work with you every single step of the way to help you reach them.⠀ ⠀ We're starting on October 1 & this is the last round for 2020 (& VERY likely the last chance to work with me on a 1-1 basis this year).⠀ ⠀ If you're a service provider that's SERIOUS about running a profitable business, comment below with 'Apply' and I'll send you the link to the application ⬇️⠀
One of the best things about being a #momboss is having the BEST of both worlds, don't ya think? You’re part biz owner👩🏻💻 and part momma 👩👧👦 who has the flexibility to be more present in your kids' daily lives. But easier said than done, right? Our #mombossmonday feature this week, Emily of @emilywriteswell, knows this battle alllll too well. Especially with the current pandemic, parents have had to make incredibly hard choices for their kids with childcare and schooling. It’s so easy to be jealous (guilty 🙋♀️) of non-parents who don’t have to make those decisions and seemingly get a full day of uninterrupted work. But I loved Emily’s realness in making it work for her family 👏🏼. ➡️ Explain what you do & who you service in your business. I'm a creative copywriter and strategist. I help online coaches and service providers hone their brand voice, tap into their unique personality, and write copy that connects with their dream clients and makes effortless sales. ➡️ How many kids do you have? What are their ages? One daughter: She's 2! ➡️ What's the hardest part of running your business and being a mom? I really struggle with turning off "work Emily" and having clear boundaries for being "mom Emily." As my daughter has gotten older, and more capable of entertaining herself, I find myself working for long stretches of her awake time. Then at the end of the day, I feel guilty for not giving her one-on-one attention and being more focused on my work than on her. On days when I focus on her, I feel like I'm neglecting my clients and falling behind with my work. Learning how to set clear time boundaries for working and mom-ing is my biggest struggle right now. Being a mom is REALLY freaking hard!😰⠀ ⠀ And then you add an international pandemic, distance learning, running a business, and a million other things into the mix and it's enough to send any sane person into the deep end.⠀ ⠀ Over the past year, I've had a lot of reasons for thinking I was a bad mom - a lot are listed in that image above ⬆️⠀ ⠀ I've put MYSELF & my wants/needs to the side for the past 4 years as I've been building this business (baby #1) and raising my now 16-month-old (baby #2).⠀ ⠀ But you know what? I'm done with that ✌️⠀ ⠀ It's time to find MYSELF again!⠀ ⠀ The badass version of Steph who used to workout 2/day, who graduated college in 3 years, who left an abusive relationship after 5 years, who started a six-figure business from nothing when everyone told her she should stop and focus on a corporate career...⠀ ⠀ And that's why over the weekend, I did something crazy that was only for ME. I bought myself a Peloton because frankly, I deserve it.⠀ ⠀ I've given up my body & overall wellness for far too long and it's time to remember that I was a real-life person before having this baby. ⠀ ⠀ And this mom is ready to goooo! 🤪⠀ ⠀ With that said, my family will forever be the most important thing to me BUT it's time to put myself first and make myself a priority too!⠀ ⠀ This is something that hasn't happened in more than 4 years, because of STORIES I was telling myself.⠀ ⠀ Stories like - ⠀ ⠀ "I had to wait until my son slept through the night before I could exercise."⠀ ⠀ "What's the point in exercising because I'll only gain the weight back when I have another kid."⠀ ⠀ "Working is way more important than my health since that's what pays the bills."⠀ ⠀ ...I can keep going on & on.⠀ ⠀ But those days of making up stories are long gone.⠀ ⠀ This is just one of the many reasons why I love to profile other mom biz owners for my Mom Boss Monday feature. To show that you're NOT in this alone & you're way stronger than you give yourself credit for! Want to apply for a feature? Send me a DM ❤️⠀ ⠀ Tell me below - what's one thing that you've been feeling #momguilt over that you're ready to leave behind?
Who else HATES cleaning the house as much as I do? 🙋♀️ This week’s #mombossmonday feature, Ashley of @auburncreativeco, had my cracking up 🤣 about this topic. Seriously, who has time to do a deep clean 🧹 every week while running a business and a family?! 👎🏼 I’m team #germsbuildimmunity just like Ashley is. She said it perfectly…”Life is just messy.” 🙌🏼 Here’s how Ashley makes it work as a #momboss: ➡️ Explain what you do & who you service in your business. I'm a Branding & Website Designer. I've worked with lots of smaller businesses focusing on lifestyle and real estate. ➡️ How many kids do you have? What are their ages? Soon to be 2! A 20-month-old son and daughter due in December. ➡️ What's the hardest part of running your business and being a mom? I've tried it, before COVID, working from home with the kiddo and it's HARD! To do my job efficiently, I need uninterrupted time. Then to mom efficiently, I need to unplug. I have found that blocked times work best for me, so I'm working on it. Have you ever felt frustrated after buying a course or investing in coaching… and still not having any clients? 🥴 Been there 🙋♀️ A lot of DIY courses give you the content BUT they're missing one big thing - ongoing support. That's the exact reason why Scalable Service Society is a 12-month mentorship program. The last thing I want is for you to have all of the content in your back pocket but then have no one to turn to when business gets tough. Because it does...pretty frequently. Running a business (of any kind) is no easy task, let alone when you're trying to juggle working from home, distance learning and taking care of your home. You need support from other women who are on the same journey as you are. And let's not forget a seasoned business coach that you can turn to when you have questions about growing your service-based biz (heyyy...that's me! 🙋♀️) I get that finding the time to invest in your own business feels impossible (I have a running, teething one-year-old so I get it), but you’re not going to hit those $3k months if you don’t put your goals and dreams first. That's why all of the content was intentionally created for busy moms to work through on their time. The trainings are short and fluff-free...because we don't have time for that 😝 But time is running out for you to decide if you're going to join us. Today is the last day to make your decision. The doors are closing to Scalable Service Society and won't re-open until 2021. Ready to do this? Send me a DM and I'll share the details so you can get instant access right away!
