On a crisp and beautiful January day, Maddy & Kyle became husband and wife with a perfectly intimate ceremony at the DC War Memorial. With their families as witnesses, they made their vows and sealed it with a kiss. Congratulations again you two. I can’t wait to celebrate with you again next year! I am always so honored to be welcomed into these private moments of celebration. And after this last year, elopements and intimate weddings will always hold a special place in my heart.

// “sweet spring is your time is my time is our time for springtime is lovetime and viva sweet love.” // We had the dreamiest spring morning for Laurel & Kurt’s engagement session! Virginia was really showing off with temperatures in the 70s and blooms as far as the eye can see. And with that, my 2021 season has officially begun. From now until the end of May I have at least one shoot a week. It’s crazy and wonderful to see a calendar so full - a stark difference from spring last year. There is so much to celebrate. 🌸

Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️🇮🇪 Before John was born, Matt and I went on a Babymoon to Ireland. It was the most perfectly wonderful trip we have ever been on. We saw castles and gardens, and cliffs and geographic wonders, and pubs galore. We were met with kindness everywhere we went. And the music - I will never forget our first night on the island when we were enjoying our first Irish meal and a folk band started playing in the pub. The vocalist had such a pure, strong voice and the band never missed a beat. And there was another day when we were castle hopping and we had stopped to take some pictures in a field. I was taking a picture of the tree you’ll see if you scroll through the photos, when the breeze picked up and I heard soft voices singing a very haunting and beautiful tune. I still don’t know where it was coming from, but it felt very surreal and special. Anyways, I will take any excuse to post a million photos of Ireland and relive our time there. I would absolutely love to go back and shoot a few destination sessions there! Sláinte!

New prof pic, who dis? It has been a long time (3 years actually) since I posted a picture of myself on here. My dear friend @kathryn_ivyphoto made me feel 💯 in front of the camera this morning and it was so wonderful to be together again after a whole year! // So, hi and welcome! I’m Anna, the sole photographer and owner of Anna Kardos Photography. I photograph weddings all over the world and locally here in Virginia. I highly value creating an intentional and personal photography experience for my couples. My editing style brings out the natural, authentic beauty of my couples and of the setting/landscape. I always look for glowing light and romantic and timeless elements to incorporate into each image. After 7 years in the business and photographing hundreds of couples and portrait clients, I still can’t believe I get to do this for a living. I truly love this job and I am so thankful for everyone who has helped and encouraged me along the way. // Now for some fun facts about me: 1. I am an INFP/J, Idealist Counselor, Enneagram 9w1. I love personality tests and knowing other people’s results! Drop yours below! 2. I would rather drink my calories than eat them (anyone else?) 😂 I love coffee, La Croix, and my go to cocktail is an Old Fashioned or honestly anything with whiskey. 3. Right after I graduated from JMU, I applied for a ton of different positions with National Geographic. I had high hopes of becoming a wildlife photographer. (I didn’t hear back about a single position 🤷🏻♀️) 4. Since my last introduction, we had a baby boy named John. He is the light of my life and being a mom has completely changed the way I view the world. He is 16 months now and turning into such a wild and sweet little boy. 5. When I first started my business, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep photography as a hobby and it would only feel like work. Honestly, I appreciate it now more than ever because of how much I have learned along the way. I take my camera out every time we go on a walk. I photograph whatever inspires me from architecture, to landscapes, plants, light, animals, and people. It still fulfills my creative spirit and curious mind.
