Celebrating my booty and leg gains 🦵 I have been in a build phase and really focused on building strength in my legs to better support my preciously I knees, to improve areas of weakness due to over compensation. I am celebrating these legs! They have come so far! I am doing things today at 46 years old that I have never been able to do in my LIFE! You know what is sexy? The change that has happened between my ears. NOTHING is impossible anymore! Check out my stories for more details on this exercise!
Something so simple yet so effective ... A few short months ago... impossible After my shoulder injury I could not do this exercise at all with the band. Because of my shoulder injury I got to focus building my back and focus on form. I don’t HAVE to ... I GET to Injuries are no fun. However, after taking the time to rest in the beginning of recovery, this time allows us to reflect on why thing happened and what we can learn from it. It is usually is time of realization that the injury was due to something we needed to correct long ago but didn’t realize. An opportunity to grow in our ability and create more impact for each rep with stronger mind muscle connection. This has nothing to do with being a beginner, new, plus size or any other limiting beliefs. It happens to athletes and traditionally fit. Injuries happen. The fact that I can do this with the band and also up the resistance by holding the band to make it tighter is so much growth. I GET to focus on keep my shoulders down and working the correct area of my back. I am constantly correcting as I do this exercise as my should still wants to pop up and over compensate. I am approaching the end of my build phase. I have learned so much... what went well and what I can do better. Muscle has been gained, strength has increased.... and I am ready to see what is revealed in the coming weeks. I am also ready for warmer weather.... pretty please
Sunday Funday with my friend @bretthoebel He came down to visit and we went to spin class at @gritcycle then, clearly, we wanted to play some more. When fitness is fun, motivation comes naturally! I have so much to share with you from today but I had to share this little clip. Brett does Capoeira so beautifully. We do it each time we are together and today I could feel the difference thanks to building my strength.... it’s been several months since the last time I tried! My knees were SOLID!!!! This showed me how far I have come with the focus on strength. I will share some more on how Brett taught me to modify with yoga blocks for some other sequences. Today I felt so graceful! I will share more later!! Strong gear by @sweatwithsoul Bretts clothing line!
The struggle is real and a part of the journey... Another exercise that seemed impossible. Over time I built up my mind muscle FIRST... grew in my self belief... I had to learn this from scratch. Today I did try, I did. It is an attempt and fail... I needed it to know what to to next. Then another attempt and I did a few more. It’s not a highlight real it highlights what’s real. Now I know what I can do . From here I can grow in my ability, clean up form, get better. The motivation comes naturally. I don’t do hard. Want to learn how?
