  • 2001 Japan Only. Did you know there were differences in the Japan released pairs & US pairs? The Japan version had 9 lace holes, as compared to 8 on the US version. The largest size made for the Japan pairs was 10.5. And most notably, the suitcase was different than the XVII suitcase. It had locks with keys and was more sturdy. Released on New Years Eve in 2001, there were only 2001 pairs for the silver. The black pair released later that year with a rumored 3000 pairs. These are two of the hardest to obtain releases from the Early Years. The reaction to the AJ 1 in the US was different than in Japan, but also partly because of the numbers and way the launches were handled. The White / Navy and Metallic Silver releases in the US (numbered) but in Jordan Face Boxes. The All Black was only a Japan release.   • Maroon Or Bordeaux? The Lifestyle Based (Non Team) colorways started getting adventurous with the VI/VII. The “Grape” V was certainly interesting but also matched the Charlotte Hornets colors which were very popular at the time. These Maroon based models were very different than what was in the market. He eventually made his way to Orlando where he wore these PE’s of the Air Holistic Uptempo. These feature a higher cut than what was released at retail. “Ewing 6” is featured on the tongue. The Holistic Uptempo was a popular model in the early 2000’s, retailing at $100 (or less on sale). Who had a pair of Uptempo’s back then?
