    If you know me, you know I love a good gala. I love giving back and when you allow me to do that through a party, I’m all in.   • Today is the official launch day of our nonprofit, Joy Street Initiative! For the past year, we have been doing smaller projects for @oaklandelizabethhouse, a transitional women’s shelter helping families rebuild their lives. We are now embarking on a 2-year project to renovate EVERY room in the house, including the kitchen and bathrooms, to give the families better functioning spaces and to give the wonderful support team the ability to focus on the families and not the facility. Up to this point, Joy Street Design has been funding all the renovations - 10% of every dollar goes to the nonprofit - but we will be fundraising for the larger spaces. I somehow found myself in the administrative wing and this hallway that was a visual representation of everything he’s accomplished during his time there. Super impressive and inspiring.   • Cheers to a long weekend full of delicious food and good friends. Had an amazing dinner at @merchantroots that seemed to be tailor made for me - an entire meal based on colors!! The food was visually stunning but the flavors were more reflective of how the color makes you feel or should taste. It was great!

I can’t believe that I’m so lucky to have great friends who travel for a surprise birthday party, a wonderful and supportive husband who actually planned said party while solo parenting so I could go to Marrakech, and an amazing company with great clients that are helping build Joy Street into an empire (more details to come soon 😜). It’s time to get back to work and adulting but wanted to take some time and bask in this joy and thankful feeling.
