  • Hello there! . This is a post that I was very hesitant to write but here goes. . DCL started as a company that shipped primarily to the Caribbean. The rationale behind this was 1. access to books and 2. The fragmented geographical nature of the region meant that most of us are familiar with shipping delays, extraordinary wait times and customs fees. Over time, we were asked to open the brand to non-Caribbean customers, and in December 2019 we began doing so on a phased basis. . One quarter later we were dealing with a pandemic. The onset of COVID-19 significantly affected our logistics and supply chains. For the most part, our books and tokens have to be imported. We have experienced significant delays as offices in the US, UK and Canada have pivoted to work from home and warehouses deal with operating within social distancing guidelines. It goes without saying that local- in this case, US, UK and Canada based orders - are prioritized over international orders. . We have no control over that. We wait, as we've been used to doing. In the age of Amazon Prime we have to balance conflicting expectations. We cannot ship at the same speed as large companies. Even longer wait times have become the norm. This means that packages will take longer to arrive in Jamaica and our dispatch windows are much longer than before. We wholly understand that this may impact your customer service experience and we deeply, deeply apologize. We do try to update our subscribers once we are advised by our partners and acknowledge that sometimes this happens later than we would ideally be comfortable with. . As always, we are open to issuing refunds for significant delays to deliveries and ask that you email us if you'd like to request same. . Moving forward, we anticipate delays in the dispatch of our Gilded Ones Limited Edition Box as well as the March 2021 box. Both are being shipped from the UK which continues its lockdown protocols. Our shipment of books for the Gilded Ones had been loaded to the container but we do not have a clear idea of arrival. We will update as more information becomes available. .
