I saw photo of a writer's spotless, Martha-Stewart-pretty writing desk the other day, and I thought, "There's no way that's real." 🧡 Here's my writing desk! I didn't let myself tidy even one thing. 🧡 Things I notice here: 1. I'm a piler, not a filer. 2. This is messier than usual because I never clean or organize things when I'm on deadline. Lucky to get the bed made! 3. The notebooks on the right (piled up on top of the stack of books I'm going to read in the bubble bath after I turn in this book) are all brimming with notes/ ideas/ abandoned outlines/ bits of dialogue for the story I'm writing. Half of it I won't use. 4. Yes, those are drum sticks. 5.
