  • Taking a photo vs. capturing a feeling. ⁣ ⁣ Consider this a “thank you” to the occasional motion blur that happens when the couple in front of the lens has joy and excitement that’s so tangible, the camera can’t keep up.⁣ ⁣ It’s easy to take a photo. It’s easy to document an important event.⁣ ⁣ It’s hard to capture a moment. It’s hard to immortalize feelings. But I think we do it pretty well.

  • I wasn’t hired to shoot this wedding.⁣ ⁣ Years ago, I was finishing up photographing a corporate event, and I knew I wanted to start photographing weddings.⁣ ⁣ I was about to leave when I saw the bride & groom come out to the balcony and I could NOT resist.⁣ ⁣ I guess you can say this was my “a ha” moment 😅 I hope they a) know how important they are to me b) one day see these (pretty dope tbh) images of them.

And surprise surprise, I’ve got a thing or two to say about it.⁣ ⁣ “Don’t become a wedding photographer if you want to be an artist.”⁣ ⁣ I’m sorry...what?⁣ ⁣ I went to photo school to strengthen my skills and learn new things, not to be told what I can and can’t do with that knowledge. But as you can see, I didn’t take that advice. And that brings us here.⁣ ⁣ I wanted to share a bit of inspiration with all of you, and let you know you can be creative in ANY field. You don’t have to fit a specific mold. You can’t sell out when you do what you love.⁣ ⁣ Wedding photography is what has allowed me to explore more and more art, and I’ve used so many images to inspire our work.
