  • We know this has been one challenging year for everyone on planet Earth, but we hope you can all find some brief moments of peace and calm this holiday season. We would like to take this opportunity to THANK all of the nurses, doctors, first responders...basically anyone who has anything to do with healthcare and keeping us alive. We cannot even fathom what you all have experienced and sacrificed for us all these past months. For all of you that are working through the holidays to keep us alive, to all of you who don’t get to be with your families, and for the countless hours you work while we complain that we have to wear masks...THANK YOU! A sincere apology to all of you who have lost members of your family due to Covid this year and are trying to find some sort of joy during this terrible time. We love you. What it must feel like when you’re suffering the loss of someone you love and you sign on to social media for a little escape only to see your friends complaining about not being able to eat inside their favorite restaurant or how they can’t get a hair cut!   • Well hello. Since there’s not much hair being done at the salon, I figured I would take this opportunity to introduce each one of our talented artists to you. We will be doing a spotlight series so you can get to know the ladies at The Local a bit better. I am Rosie Fiore-Born and along with my husband @tbbonez, we are the creators, owners, accountants, contractors, maintenance crew, housekeepers, I.T. Dept., H. R. Dept., plumbers, electricians, social media/web designer, and interior designers of The Local Salon. Oh...and I am a full time hairdresser for the past 22 years. We had a crazy idea 8 years ago to open a different kind of space that would feel familiar and approachable for everyone. Our demographic for perspective clientele and employees was not based on gender, race, age, socio- economic status or anything that could be judged by looking at the exterior of a human. Our goal was to serve people...well to be honest, it was to surround ourselves with nice people. Honestly. Gone were the days we had to “tolerate” rude, entitled, small minded, hate filled people. It’s OUR’s, we don’t have to deal with anything we don’t feel good about! We cater to the kind, inspiring, honest and wonderful human. We want to surround our days here with silliness, creativity, inspiration, new ideas, artistry, beauty that oozes from inside folks. Life’s short. Why would we deal with anything else? This is HAIR, it is supposed to be fun! We take our craft very seriously and believe in health over wealth. We believe in charging fair prices for the work and training we have put into what we do. We want people who honor and appreciate what we do. And in return we will provide a fantastic experience.
