Wildflower, pick up your pretty little head, it will get easier. Your dreams are not dead.- Nikki Rowe Perseverance can be as difficult as it is necessary. In times where everything seems futile, what do you do to keep yourself going? Illustration by Erica
After several weeks, this #ennard wire sculpture was finally completed by one of our fantastically talented program participants. We are consistently inspired by the creativity of our youth as they tackle new mediums and push themselves to new heights. Each week we witness their growth in both skill and confidence that they can accomplish great things.
“An empty lantern provides no light. Self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly.”- Unknown 💕 As you head into the weekend, here’s a little reminder to take the time to rest and recuperate, courtesy of teen volunteer Erica.
Introducing... ”PowderPuff the Thinker”, a superhero and sobriety buddy who was brought to life in one of our programs this week. 💗 PowderPuff is not perfect, but then again, nobody is. Their face is slightly tilted, deep in thought. This genderless fellow does not harm people while fighting crime, they just make the world a better place. If you’re ever lost in life, their “arrow of success” can help point you in the right direction. 💗 How do you keep yourself on the right path?
“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” — Eleanor Brown 💗 Art by Erica, 15 💗 At times, the concept of self-care may seem foreign to us, or even selfish. But this quote reminds us that always putting others before ourselves is a disservice to everyone. Like the age old adage says, you must put on your own oxygen mask before helping the person next to you. . . . . . #millionlittle #therapeuticart #selfcare #loveyourself #healingthroughart #teenscreate #selfcarequotes
