“In every neighborhood, all across our country, there are good people insisting on a good start for the young, and doing something about it.” - Mr. Rogers November 13 is Kindness Day. How are you celebrating? Share your stories (and your cardigans) with us. #kindnessday #cardiganday
“We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.” - Ralph Hattersley - Photographic Educator The 3 & 4 year old children of Room 13 have been exploring their neighborhood over the past year and a half. One language they use to understand grow closer to their community is the language of photography. In celebration of the season, the children took their cameras to the neighborhood to search for Halloween decorations. They speculated about how the decorations arrived there, what they were for, and whether they were real. They chose a selection of their photographs, photographs that spoke to them about the community in which they live, to share with the families of the school as a gift of Halloween. Happy Halloween to all our families and friends!
We were truly grateful to welcome a delegation of education professionals from the country of Tajikistan to foster an exchange of cross-cultural perspectives on the power of early childhood education. Hosted by Boulder-Dushanbe Sister Cities, this delegation arrived in Boulder as participants in the Open World program. This program sponsors hundreds of young professionals and emerging government leaders from Eurasia each year to come to the United States for the purpose of meeting with their American counterparts to discuss common issues and solutions. @sistercitiesint @owprogram #tajikistan #education #earlychildhoodeducation #ece #youngchildren #boulderdushanbe #boulderjourneyschool #myboulderjourney
