It’s such a simple and lovely visual for a powerful truth that I live by.

  • From the Sage Money course: Write down one money mistake you’ve made.⁣
 ⁣
Now rewrite it with ownership, fact, empathy, lesson, and action.⁣
 ⁣
For example: “I failed to save for retirement and lost years of compound interest like a broke moron.”⁣
 ⁣
Becomes: “I chose (ownership) not to contribute to retirement beyond the match for the first 10 years of adulthood (fact) because I was so focused on the present season of nurturing my babies (empathy). From this experience I have learned to expand my field of vision farther into the future (lesson). I will now increase my retirement contributions to at least 15% (action).⁣
 ⁣
Repeat as needed anytime you feel the pain of shame or regret in parenting, homeschooling, or any other area of life.
