UNTIL NOW #releasethedoves I recently decided to teach myself how to HAND SEW one, and you guys, it has changed everything! . . ❤️HAND sewn buttonholes are a thing of beauty and strength!They are cut BEFORE you sew them, so there are no loose threads hanging out of the opening, and they are so strong and durable that your seams are likely to fall apart before your buttonhole does. . 🧿 They say it take 100 buttonholes to master one, and they WERE NOT KIDDING‼️Be prepared for your first attempts to completely SUCK. ‼️ If you’re looking at my buttonholes thinking, “I should give up, mine don’t look like that”, please feel free to swipe to the end and see my first attempts, which you’d be forgiven for mistaking as cockroaches. 🦗 . 🧿 I just finished making a killer denim jacket #8845 by @mimigstyle and @norrisdantaford , with coated denim from @wearethefabricstore and I decided that this jacket would be the perfect place to practice my buttonholes.
