I paint when I travel, before I snap a picture, I (almost always) paint. It’s a huge source of inspiration for the design work that happens when we get home from travels... France, Alaska, it’s such a huge blessing to have family scattered in amazing places, because you have to go visit family right? 😉 and after a year of almost no travel, as a nod to the places we’ll go back to when we can once again, we’re launching a small limited edition print collection of the favorites from the travel journals. Each print is printed on high quality watercolor paper, will be done in very small batches, and will ship in time for Christmas gifts! And preorders just went up in stories! 🙌🏻 🎨 #katherinebignonillustrations #parispainting #paris #travelwatercolor #smallbusinesssaturday @abbygracephoto

Getting vvvery excited over here for some comfy Fall post-partum outfits ☕️🍂 I’ve never loved maternity clothes, so towards the end of each pregnancy I’ve always excited-over-shopped for “regular” clothes that I usually don’t end up loving... but these past 7 months have massively shifted our shopping *morals* towards the small shop, local designer, thrifted, and me-made and I’m SO excited to “get dressed” again 🍂 #almost38weeks #nplstyled #memade #behindtheseams

It’s been a rough week for parents, as back to school mask mandates for kids have gotten stricter, and everyone’s trying to figure out what this school year will look like. Who would have thought that this is what back to school shopping would look like? And while I am far from having it figure it out, I have two things for you (along with my heartfelt prayers that our children will all still find joy in the chaos of this year). First, “backtoschool10” is the discount code for everything in the shop. We haven’t discounted masks until now, but in light of the back to school need, we’re doing it! And 2nd, a little guide to help you navigate what style/fabric/size is the absolute best fit for your needs. The link to shop is in my profile, and the guide is below. +Do you struggle to feel like you can breathe in a mask, are you claustrophobic, OR do you wear glasses? LINEN. Linen, linen, linen all the way. It’s lightweight, ultra breathable, and softens more with each use. Our personal fave- the Liberty of London linen collection (we love it so much we listed them first on the site!) +Do your kids cry for comfort, and rip it off if it’s anything but? Again, linen. It softens with EVERY wear. And you can also request ear adjusters in a note at checkout, so they can adjust it as they need! +Are you an adult with a smaller face, and everything slips off/you can’t find a good fit? Try the JUNIOR size, we added it just for you! +Are your kids simply overwhelmed at the thought? Try sitting down with them and letting them browse the prints. We sourced superheroes, diggers, golden crowns on swans, and so much pink just to make this joyful and fun for them. +Are you chasing simplicity? Something that’ll match everything? Try the solid linen in Charcoal or Pale Blue. +Do you have little littles, and everything is too big for them? Request ear adjusters in a note at checkout! +Do you carry your baby in a carrier, and they don’t like it when you’re in a mask? Try the Liberty of London “Zoo Friends” print, they can practice their animal sounds and maybe have a little bit of fun! (Cont in comments)

Covid 😷 has completely changed weddings and the industry that surrounds it, but, honestly... I adore small intimate weddings, they’re my favorite to design for- the style of gown that goes with it is what I dream of. Couples that value the commitment over the bash, I love them. And seeing the stories of the marriages still beginning, despite a shift in party plans, makes me SO joyful. #katherinebignondesign #smallwedding #weddinggown #behindtheseams #covidbride

I stopped making tulle skirts about 2 years ago, but the sample rack in the studio is still overflowing with them... So it appears to be time for a studio clean-out SALE! I’ll be letting the last of these go basically at cost to make room on our racks, so measure your waist and get ready to move fast!! Happening in stories tonight at 7pm EST ❤️

The view from here is 👌🏻🌊☀️ So grateful that despite our summer in France being canceled, we were able to snag a week at one of my favorite places. (With a stop on the way there to fill up with peanuts to boil- if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you are missing out on southern summer life 😉) . #travelpainting #watercolor #obx #outerbanks #obxart

I never do bathroom selfies, but I also had no bump pictures and I don’t want to forget this (hopefully) last round... I have to google “how many weeks am I if my due date is Sep 26” anytime I want to know how far along I am, but I love all the other things keeping me too busy to remember (👩🏼👦🏻👦🏼👧🏼🧵)... road tripping is a lot less comfortable, but we’re on our way to somewhere amazing ☀️🌊👙... it was a lovely day tailoring in DC (wait mom, you’re going to work? Somewhere else? What do you do?? 😂) Bonne nuit xx
