Foundational Friday - this is a throwback to 1982 and to honor the late Dr. Norman Stern, who helped start the Sports Vision elective at Pacific University College of Optometry. He has inspired many students, including two Sports Vision Leaders - Dr. Bradley Coffey and Dr. Alan Reichow. This study, with two alums, has made a difference and set up many further research projects. #sportsvision #oldiebutgoldie

Training Tuesday - Thanksgiving edition. We want to thank our advisory board member, @epitkanen, for being a leader in vision and sports performance. Eric is dedicated to his athletes, his sports medicine team, and his family. He is amazing and we are humbled to have him on our team and proud to call him a friend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and thank you, Eric. @goboxers #sportsmedicine #thankful

Training Tuesday - Here is @lizyandall working with @epitkanen on a batting drill. Eric will call out or in and Liz has to hit the correct ball as quickly and accurately as possible. Great foundational drill that incorporates cognitive function. It is easy to ramp this up with strobes, balance, and more. Great job. #sportsvision #eyehandcoordination

Training Tuesday - a great drill of Turn and Catch. Here @paulrevis turns when @epitkanen calls "turn." Then Paul has to find the ball Eric has thrown and catch. Great drill to use at warm-up or between reps. Add @senaptec strobes or throw more to the sides to increase difficulty. #sportsvision #eyehandreaction #reactiontime

Foundational Friday - Today we highlight Dr. Graham Erickson, who is on our advisory board, and Dr. @gregappelbaum . This is a great review of digital training and a great reference. There are new training opportunities since this published, but most still follow these categories. Enjoy! #sportsmedicine #sportsvision #evidencebased

Training Tuesday - Focusing on your touch while weaving between cones is a classic foundational training tool. In order to ramp up the difficulty we added the @senaptec strobe glasses and had the athlete call out the numbers that @epitkanen was holding up. This was his first run through and did well. Great drill to emphasize foundational skills #sportsvision #eyefootcoordination
