And in the light we see beauty, purpose and great love.
COP giveaway coming soon! T'was almost FIVE years ago that I officially and legally opened Christine Ott Photography, LLC and to celebrate I'm going to be giving away two different sessions in January! Stay tuned for details!
With so many new followers I thought it's probably time for Friday introductions! Welcome to all of my new friends, hey there to those who've been around. I appreciate your support! It's been awhile since I've talk about múa and to be honest I'd rather talk about other people but here goes: My name is Christine, but pronounced Christin-eh. Confusing right? It's German and us Germans like to pronounce all of our letters. I grew up in Nebraska, The Good Life, and truly adore that flat state. I moved to Ohio in 2010 for my then boyfriend, now husband. Fast forward almost a decade, (a decade already??), and we have a house, a pooch and a sweet as pie baby girl. Who, I will admit, I am 1000% obsessed with. No shame. My photography journey started out as a hobby, like many, and has grown into my career! I feel uber blessed about that--and stressed. Owning your own business is rough! Now as a mom, too, it's another layer of crazy. All of you parents know what I'm talking about! This first picture of me with my hair and makeup done and wonderful Photoshop is how I want to feel daily and how I want all of you to see me. But that second photo...the one with greasy hair, no makeup, gym clothes and a baby sleeping on me is my reality. I am a work-from-home mom and it's the most rewarding, wonderful and difficult thing I've ever done. I can't express my gratitude for my situation: that I am able to be with my daughter every single day. But that gratitude doesn't mean it's easy. Everyday I have failures as a parent and entrepreneur and I suppose there are some successes mixed in as well ;-) Real talk: I change my clothes almost as much as I change hers because she barfs so much. Her eating, having a clean diaper, doing tummy time and reading books is a priority over my needs and sometimes it's noon and I realize I've not had a bite yet. Cue a banana and a handful of nuts. More real talk: I need to be better about taking care of myself, too, but let's be honest, I sense it never goes away. Baby > Mom any day. So I welcome my make-up-less face and yoga pants and being frazzled about getting my editing done. It gets done, the biz is growing. I'm happy.
A mother's love: so strong and raw in the beginning, to grow into an unbreakable and beautiful force.
There is an endearing tenderness in the love of a mother to a son that transcends all other affections of the heart. -Washington Irving
