Heres a family portrait commission I created from photographs to celebrate the new Chinese New year! The year of the Ox! I'm so greatful for all the commissions and portraits I've had over the last year/s they keep me doing what I love, travelling and interacting with people with my sewing machine. Now I'm taking some time away from commissions to work on a few of my own projects... The travelling gallery being one of them and figuring out exciting plans for the UK. Life is all about the balance. ❤️ #yearoftheox #chinesenewyear #familyportrait #stitch #hongkong #institchyou #freestylestitching #lovecolour #lanterns #beaches

My friend Kate and I are raising money for Comic Relief. Check out our promo video 'The Running Joke' our Just Giving page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/therunningjoke-harrietandkate We have noticed a lot more runners on our lock down streets and we thought, what's funnier? A runner in their usual running gear OR a runner dressed as a super hero or a pair of runners as a comedy duo, it could be any costume you can find ! So we are leading by example, we want to spread that smile! On March the 19th we will be running a half marathon in Fair Oak and Eastleigh, Hampshire, weaving the streets in costume for JOY and giggles! Currently we are a shark and unicorn ... but this may change ...We are open to costume suggestions. We hope to make people smile and chuckle and spread the good work and awareness of Comic Relief. SO SPONSOR US WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD ... or JOIN US ON MARCH 19th Don your costumes, get sponsors and run from a mile to a Marathon! And we can all safely gallivant around as duos and families spreading the fancy dressed joy ! Xx Kate and Harriet

Hello world! How are you doing out there? We've nearly done January! Must be the slowest month in the calender, and now onto a short leap-year February and then Spring! We have got this! Despite finding my screen time has quadrupled in these recent times, I am so greatful for Online video calls! A small window into someone else's world. Its allowed me to work, stitch portraits and meet some very interesting people from the comfort of my studio. Swipe to see the lovely Patty. We share a love for India and textiles, so we had lots to talk about during her portrait. If you'd like to give the gift of a Zoom portrait I can stitch you a digital voucher to send to your friend. £95 for a Zoom Stitched portrait. #helloworld #institchyou #stitchedportrait #Indiatextiles #zoom #liveart #portrait #wehavegotthis #harrietriddell

The Knitting Circle. I found this group of women in Winchester library (pre covid) , they meet once a week to Knit and Natter. They kindly let me set up my machine and stitch them as they caught up on each others news and created new garments for loved ones. #knittersofinstagram #knit #thediscoverycenter #winchester #winchesterlibrary #knitandnatter #freemotionembroidery #freestyle #institchyou #harrietriddell

The Spinners and Weavers. Earlier this year (much earlier!) I was lucky to be invited to sit in and stitch the Isle of Wight Spinners and Weavers AGM. I love that groups of women meet around the world to share their love of textiles. Stitched live on my Bernina. @isleofwight_living

Check out my Beatles Tea Towel - Sargent Peppers Lonely Heart Club band. A few years ago, I was exhibiting work along side Peter Blake, he is the artist who did their Sgt. Pepper Album cover. (remember the one?) This inspired me to stitch the four. These have been quite popular I've made a few of them. I love their bright outfits, instruments and music from that album. This Tea Towel is for sale! A perfect gift for The Beatles biggest fans. Click on the image and it will take you to my shop. Christmas is coming...! 😘❤️

Zoom Stitched Portraits.... As you know- I love to work from life. However this pandemic has made this much harder to achieve. On the bright side, it has turned my practise much more technological as I now stitch portraits LIVE via a online video call. It has been amazing to connect with different people around the world who, without the shift to working on the internet, it would of been unlikely I would have met back in the old 'working from life days'. I stitched this beautiful couple on Saturday Morning, they were in Germany and I was in Hampshire. They enjoy playing music together, so they set up and played as I stitched. It is really lovely capturing my subjects doing something they love. This portrait was a wedding gift from a friend of theirs. I sent a digital stitched voucher for her to give to the couple on their wedding day and a week later we scheduled the Zoom stitch. Swipe right to see the voucher. If you would like to give the gift of a stitched portrait, I can stitch you voucher, to give to loved ones this Christmas. A double portrait costs £155 A stitched voucher gift wrapped to your recipient £7 Free Postage. Please get in touch with me via a personal message if you are interested.

Brixton Boy - David Bowie Tea Towel Print. Available to buy from my Etsy Shop for 16. Free postage - InStitchYou (Link in the bio)... In this stitched portrait, Bowies lyrics are hidden in his shiny black outfit, he has a golden glittery third eye and on a red painted background. The original has long been sold, but I am impressed with the quality of this print, it really brings out the stitching on 100% Cotton Panama. Oh David, what a legend!

Stitching in my local Laundrette in Eastleigh. Watching the washing go around and around and around.... I have always found the laundrette to be very mesmerising. When I was at university (nearly nine years ago - Gulp!) The laundrette was the first place I took my sewing machine when I realised there was a whole world outside from the textile room. Swipe right to find my first ever Laundrette stitch from my university days. @uhcreatives
