Can you believe that this is in Fujairah? At the time that this throwback photo was taken, Bithnah Fort was surrounded by farms. The majority of these farms were situated close to the edge of the wadi, for easy access to the local water supply from the falaj. The fort still stands there today, giving us a glimpse of our heritage and past, but sadly, the water of the falaj has dried up.
We visited the historical place recently with intention of implementing an inclusive conservation project, to help the Al Bithnah community in restoring the falaj and its surroundings to its former glory and keep alive the memories of their ancestors and of lovely idyllic days of old Fujairah. Shout out to @etihad_rail, Crown Prince Court Fujairah, @fujadventures, and Fujairah Enviroment Authority who are making all of this possible.

هل تصدق أن هذه الصورة في الفجيرة؟ في الوقت الذي التقطت فيه هذه الصورة، كانت قلعة البثنة محاطة بالمزارع بالقرب من حافة الوادي، لسهولة الوصول إلى مياه الفلج. لا تزال القلعة شامخة حتى اليوم، شاهدة على تراثنا وماضينا، ولكن للأسف، جف ماء الفلج.
زار فريقنا هذا المكان التاريخي الرائع مؤخرًا بهدف تنفيذ مشروع ترميم شامل، لمساعدة مجتمع البثنة على استعادة الفلج ومحيطه وإعادته إلى مجده السابق والحفاظ على ذكريات أسلافهم والأيام الجميلة في الفجيرة القديمة. شكراً لديوان ولي العهد- الفجيرة، وشركة الاتحاد للقطارات، وهيئة البيئة بالفجيرة، والفجيرة للمغامرات الذين تكاتفوا جميعاً لتحقيق ذلك.
