Many of our student leaders will be helping out at our #OpenEvening on 17th September. They have started the year in their new positions and are ready to take on the responsibility of being the voice of the young people of James Hornsby.

With future meetings planned, we hope the students will raise points for discussion with their student leaders to continue to improve James Hornsby school for the young people we serve.

WELCOME TO YEAR 11 – PRESENTATION EVENING Thursday 10th September at 4.15pm or 5.30pm in the Conference Centre

As our students begin their final year at James Hornsby School, we would like to invite Year 11 parents and carers to our Welcome to Year 11 Presentation Evening.

The evening will focus on helping families understand the important decisions ahead, particularly around post-16 education and future pathways.

We will cover:
• What to expect during Year 11
• How parents can support students through their GCSE year
• Post-16 options – sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other pathways
• What students need to consider when making their choices
• Key dates, applications and next steps
• How we will support students throughout the year

Choosing what to do after Year 11 can feel overwhelming, so this evening is designed to give parents and carers the information, confidence and guidance they need to support their child in making the right decision for their future.
We look forward to welcoming you and working together to make Year 11 a successful and exciting year for every student. 🌟

At #JamesHornsby we really want students to enjoy their experience of school. That’s why we’ve started up our Extra curricular clubs and activities program this week. We would love every young person to find at least one activity they really enjoy, and get involved!

We also have lots of trips and visits planned- some which are curriculum linked, but some that simply bring the joy of life to the school day. From a trip to France to the Christmas Panto, from the Science Museum to indoor snow Skiing- we feel like every one of our experiences is a worthwhile activity for young people to benefit from.
