“It is not the mountain that we conquer but ourselves.” – Sir Edmund Hillary | Happy Sunday, All! We can do anything we set our minds to. On 29 May 1953, Hillary and Nepalese Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to have reached the summit of Mount Everest. Which makes this quote all the more poignant! Believe in yourself. Do the work. Summit the mountains. 🏔🖊
“Do not feel lonely. The entire universe is inside you. – Rumi | I’ve been loving drawing stars lately, and have felt inspired to draw all. the. time. Which is super cool, except I do have so many other pressing things to do. However, this little nugget of inspiration is important to remember. The universe is on your side, you just have to tune into it... and yourself. Can you guess the constellations I attempted to draw? ✨🌌✏️
“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” – Charles M. Schulz | Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Love is an important thing to give and receive. There are so many friends and family that I am thrilled to be able to love this year! These fun little lettered valentines were a joy to create and even more exciting to send out. Wishing you all lots of love and a little chocolate today! ❤️🍫
“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.” – Albert Einstein | I came across this quote while watching a snowboarding movie, of all places, and it caught my attention. While I only lettered the first half, the second is I think where the meaning unfolds. Imagination is creativity in action. It allows us to explore beyond the limits of our reality, into a world of dreams where creativity and invention are at their strongest. I am all about that! Keep imagining, folks. Dream up a better world, and I’ll keep lettering up some inspiration! 💡✏️💛
“Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.” – Gary Snyder | Our Saturday Adventure this weekend was to hike to the Great Cliffs On Mount Horrid. It was so refreshing to have a sunny day, even if it was blustery and cold! The pup enjoyed not post holing on the firm snow, and we got a wonderful view of the valley below. We treated ourselves with delicious @redcloveralecompany beers at their amazing taproom in Brandon. Vermont is full of so many fun local things to do! I love not having to travel too far from home to have an adventure. 🌲🐾
“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.” – Guillaume Apollinaire | Happy Saturday! Today, focus on you. Just go out there with the sole thought of enjoying your happiness. Go for that walk, snuggle that pup, drink that coffee. Realize what brings you joy and do that thing for a little longer. Wander On! 🖊🧡😊 . . . Cards with this grand reminder are available in my #etsy shop! Check out the link in my bio!
”Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul.” – Jamie Lyn Beatty | I just (finally) added to our website some of my favorite photos from our adventure to the Big Island of Hawaii last March! Check them out for some tropical vibes on this February Friday by visiting the Photography page. 🌴📷 I cant wait until our next trip! ✈️
“Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together.” – Woodrow Wilson | Happy Friday! Today I am grateful for all the friends I’m lucky to have made since moving to Vermont. It was tough to venture across the country to start a new life while knowing nobody on the East coast except my husband (boyfriend at the time). I went a long time without feeling like I had many “true” friends out here. However, now I am thrilled to have such amazing folks in my life in Vermont. Strong, hilarious, entrepreneurs and inspiring artists, kickass mountain bikers and adventurers, and lovely, generous, genuine people fill my life with so much happiness these days. Thanks guys and gals for your friendship! It’s absolutely cherished.❤️
“Adopt the pace of Nature. Her secret is patience.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson | Too often I get caught up in the busy work of doing, doing, doing – gotta get this out, gotta update that, gotta meet them – and I tend put myself on the back burner. I need to be better about making sure I spend time just being. I feel so rejuvenated after spending time outdoors, in the trees, with the sole goal of getting up a mountain or to the end of the trail. 🌲 This past week I enjoyed two excursions that made me feel centered again... a wonderful backcountry skin on my splitboard and a lovely snowshoe in my backyard. It’s times like these I remind myself that I can’t do all the things all at once, and I need to get outside and recharge in order to do my best work. 🌲 We all could stand to be a bit more patient with ourselves and take the time we need to truly bring out our best creativity. Happy trails!
