I keep thinking and thinking about how to connect kids if they are still apart in the fall. (Does this weigh so heavy on your heart too? π) . These books have always been a favorite for partner reading. Perhaps they could still be read via zoom? I can picture breakout rooms with fun reading practice going on!

Helping parents understand how to help their young readers is even more important now. This reading bag makes it simple! π I went through all the suggestions and papers that I have sent home throughout the years and put it into one simple to understand packet. π Use the link in @mrsbteachesme to learn more about how my reading bag works! Iβm sharing one of my favorite activities to do the last weeks of school. I know we arenβt in school now...but it could be a fun home activity (especially if you are still in school like me! π€£) Itβs also a good one to save for next year! ππ» . I end the year with reviewing measurement. To help reinforce the concept, I love making and flying gliders with my friends. We create a runway to measure how far they fly. We just use unifix cubes, tape, and sticky notes. We use our measurements to make changes and compare our flight data. We always a blast! π«β€οΈπ¬ . My math program has directions on how to make gliders. You could just google or make paper airplanes too! . #teacherspayteachers #teacherblogger #teachersfollowteachers #teachersofinstagram #teachersofig #iteach #iteachk12

I would love to just tell my families to read over the summer - but some like and want more guidance. So, I made this resource! It has everything I could think of to continue fostering a love for reading and writing over the summer. ππ You can check it out through the link in @mrsbteachesme ππ» (https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Summer-Reading-Packet-4581109)

I discovered something today. You can use a Snap Chat filter on Zoom! π―π€£ . All you do is download Snap Camera at their website (Iβll link it in my profile ππ») Then, you change your camera settings on Zoom and - voila! - you are now nice and fancy! . This definitely helped brighten my day. Itβs the little things that count as we are living this crazy life! π . (https://snapcamera.snapchat.com/)

I decided to jump on the train... π My classroom only includes books. If I had the chance to get everyone together again, I would just want to spend the day reading. π Are you with me? ππ»ββοΈ . Although it is far from a replacement, the Bitmoji classroom idea sure makes things feel more familiar! Have you tried it yet? I can see myself spending hours creating different ones...π

I am a huge fan of social stories. They have always helped my students, and my own children so much. That is why I was so thankful when I saw this perfect social story from @autismlittlelearners! . In Chicago you must wear a mask. When Leo sees us in a mask, heβs been scared and unsure. I havenβt even attempted to figure out how to get him in one. Iβm sure many of you are in the same boat. . This social story talks about it perfectly. It made such sense to him and he definitely views masks differently. You can download it for free at @autismlittlelearners! If you want to learn more about social stories or make your own, I have a blog post about them. Just click the link in @mrsbteachesme ππ» (https://mrsbteachesme.com/using-social-stories-in-classroom-and/)

Distance learning has been tough to get used to - are you with me? ππ»ββοΈ One thing that has really helped is this standing desk. Sitting at a computer all day is not my thing. π π»ββοΈ . This one is currently sold out and a hundred dollars more than I paid on Amazon...ππ» There are other choices on there though, or you could just put your computer on something tall like a rolling cart! Iβm just hoping the end of this is in sight and I wonβt be teaching from this space come August...π€π»π
