Washburn New Faculty Highlight - In the month of September we will be sharing who are our excellent new members of the WS family! Meet Mr. Shane Jones who is our 4th to 6th Grade Social Studies and Science teacher! He was born in East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania where he attended and graduated from Stroudsburg High School. Mr. Jones, then moved to Norfolk Virginia to attend Old Dominion University. While attending Old Dominion University, on an athletic scholarship Mr. Jones received a bachelor’s degree in History and in Secondary Education. As a student athlete at Old Dominion, Shane was voted captain of the wrestling team and was ranked as a top twenty wrestler in the whole nation. After graduating, Mr. Jones became a Registered Behavioral Technician in Virginia Beach, Virginia . During this time he worked one on one with children who were diagnosed with Autism by applying direct therapy. This job taught Mr. Jones many valuable skills that he will be able to utilize in the classrooms at Washburn School. Mr. Jones also enjoys being outdoors, exercising, and being with his wife and family. #WashburnSchool #PoncePuertoRico #WashburnPoncee #EnglishSchool

Thank you Washburn community for your support and understanding as we manage vital health protocols, traffic in the road #14, and safety during our first month on campus. Please review our drop-off and pick-up procedures with your family to facilitate our students' arrival and departure from campus. Reminder : If a parent has multiple children at school, you should pick up your child in the area of the youngest child, at your latest child's dismissal pickup time. The older brother or sister should join the younger child in their pickup area (Road 14 or Community Building, Pre-K and Church Area). If any child is dismissed earlier or later than the other they will wait in a designated area with their teacher assistants and teachers until it is time for them to unite and be picked up at the moment your last child leaves school according to the dismissal schedule.
