  • A high-speed pursuit ended Tuesday after a CHP cruiser clipped the fleeing vehicle on a Burbank street moments after items from the SUV were strewn across the roadway. Video from Sky5 showed the driver running from the damaged vehicle and attempting to open a gate before surrendering to authorities. @lasdhq officials said the man was originally wanted for driving a stolen vehicle and then used the SUV to attack a deputy. While some beachgoers appeared to be physically distant and engaged in active pursuits, many were seen lounging on the sand and most were not wearing masks. The county’s health order currently mandates masks be worn on the beach — unless you’re in the water — and does not allow for picnicking or sunbathing. “We’re really happy to open beaches but we need people to respect guidelines,” Nicole Mooradian, an @lacdbh spokeswoman, told KTLA. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near San Pedro and Third streets in Little Tokyo at a business called Smoke Tokes, per the @losangelesfiredepartment. So far, three firefighters have been discharged from the hospital while two remained in critical but stable condition.
