  • 🦈 Drone video released by @csulbsharklab this week shows how young great white sharks interact with surfers along the SoCal coast. The large fish can be seen peacefully swimming with surfers and swimmers — sometimes close enough to touch. The CSULB lab is studying how juvenile white sharks act around people, and while the scientific analysis isn’t complete, the newly released video provides a glimpse into how the interactions go down. Despite encounters, most interactions are passive, the lab says, explaining shark bites remain rare. More at the link in our bio. #sharks #socal #CSULB

  • Have you spotted the Neowise comet streaking across the night sky over California yet? ☄️The bright comet, with its sparkling tail, is putting on a spectacular show this month and will begin to fade later in July. It will disappear around mid-August and not return for another 7,000 years🌟 Stargazers in California can see the newly discovered comet in the evenings. While it's visible with the naked eye in dark skies, NASA recommends using binoculars to see its long tail. 📷: Rich Fury/Getty Images. #ktla #comet #joshuatree #nasa
