L.A. County’s Latino and Black residents continue to be vaccinated at a significantly lower level than whites and Asian Americans, a disparity that the region’s vaccine chief called “unjust and unacceptable.” The county released new data Friday showing more than 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across L.A. County. But officials said disparities continue to mar the rollout. Less than 25% of Black residents age 65 and over, roughly 30,000 people, have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. About 29% of eligible Latino seniors have received the shot. Meanwhile, nearly 43% of white senior residents have received at least one shot, as have roughly 39% of Asian Americans, according to county data. Tap the link in our bio for more. 📷: Getty Images

@nasajpl on Friday released the first color images sent back from the Perseverance rover on Mars. The first photo shown here was taken moments before the rover touched down on the red planet the day before. Perseverance also captured the Martian horizon from Jezero Crater — its landing site — and a few oddly shaped rocks next to one of the rover's wheels. The mission team expects to receive images from Perseverance's entry, decent and landing in the coming days ☄️
