16 jars of Mulberry jam later and the tree is ready for me to do it all over again in just 48 hrs. Next will be syrup and canned Mulberry juice though. There's only so much jam you can eat! And mulberry lemonade is delicious!😄
13 lbs of freshly picked mulberries about to go into the fridge. They will macerate overnight in some sugar, orange and lemon juice (the last off our tree for the season.) Tomorrow - jam making! The tree is still loaded, so I will likely be doing this a few more times before mulberry season is done! Already have the freezer full of berries, and juice.
Sicilian Sesame loaves for breakfast. Made with a high percentage of Durum flour, hence the more yellow appearance. Such an easy loaf to make. In the evening roughly mix ingredients by hand, cover and let rise overnight. In the morning, shape loaves, brush with cornstarch glue, sprinkle liberally with sesame seeds. Slash, let rise for another 45 min while oven preheats to 450F. Bake. Cool. Enjoy. No stretching or kneading or chilling involved. And yes, made with #yeastwater (date.)
Fresh off the painting table ... literally! Isolation. Such a big deal right now, for so many people. Our many forms of isolation may look different, but right now, we are likely all experiencing some of it. She'll be in the Spring Show (link is in my bio!) My day starts later today!! Let me know if you'd like a tag for this one! 💗🙏
No words. I haven't been able to paint since all this quarantine stuff started. Partly, because I just haven't had the time, partly because I haven't had the peace or mental/emotional space, with everyone being home and in need. I also haven't had the words, which is when I usually paint. Since nothing is usual right now, this is just another thing on the pile of change! :) The last two days, however, I did finally feel the need paint. And she appeared. She'll be available at the Spring Event this week. Let me know if you'd like a tag! 💗🙏
Today's yeast water (date) bread, fresh from the oven! Laugencroissants/ Pretzel Croissant! Where Pretzel meets the croissant! Soft pretzel flavor, combined with buttery layers. Topped some with cheese, some with salt and some with sesame seeds!
