  • I can only imagine the stories of healing and heartbreak that has walked through those doors! Yesterday we were given the opportunity to visit the Ronald McDonald House! As we toured the facility and learned of the fantastic work they do, I also realized how much they rely on donations and volunteers. When a family first arrives at the house, they are given a welcome bag. These bags are provided by thirty-one. The items of comfort such as a blanket, paper to take notes when the doctor visits, crossword puzzles, and toiletries are all donated. The family is given a room to stay in, a kitchen to cook in, a warm meal daily, a place to clean their clothes, toys for their children to play with, etc. This is all provided to these families as their child is in the hospital at no cost. Some of these families stay for a couple of days, and others remain for months. When it is time for the family to return home, they are given another bag to help make their first night back home a little easier. Some of these families haven't been home for months, and some will return home to begin the process of discovering what their new normal will look like. To help make that first night back home a little easier, the bags are filled with a blanket, a quick meal, and toiletries. When asked why we started a charity based real estate company, this is our why! Each of our agents has committed to donate 5% of each commission check, and our company matches that donation with an additional 5% to the charity of our client's choice.
