What’s my recipe for success? A little bit of woo plus a whole lotta grindin’.😋 Plus: 1️⃣ Kitchen dancing. 2️⃣I show up before I’m ready, usually scared. 3️⃣ I surround myself with talented, smart, funny & compassionate people. We can’t do it alone. 4️⃣And I Do. My. Work. (Waving at my therapist, LOL 👋🏽) 5️⃣I believe in the power of angels and intuition and Law of Attraction and gratitude and Jesus. 6️⃣And then I get my ass to work.😋 What’s your recipe?
Today I am frustrated AF, sad AF, angry AF, and that’s only a fraction of what my BIPOC friends are feeling. Here’s also what’s breaking my heart... I have family that still believe in this MF. Maybe YOU still believe in him. (I can see you unfollowing now...BYE👋🏽) All I know to do is as @emilyaarons says, take 10 deep breaths. And create. Science has shown that creativity actually moves stress out of our body. So I’m gonna breathe. And Create. And pray. That’s all I got.
When we create a piece of art, we usually have no idea where or when it will go to its forever home (aka, be SOLD). But I’ve seen over and over that the painting’s energy and intention will match with just the right owner, which is why it’s so important to trust ourselves and create Honest Art...the work that flows through you & only you can make. In this case, “Rosa, The Rebel” sold to an incredible woman who, like Rosa, is tirelessly working/living to “never get tired of doing what is right.” I’m so honored that Rosa now lives in her home. And I’m #gratefulaf to get to do what I love.

Happy New Year’s Eve!! I’m celebrating and so grateful for each and every one of you! Today, I’m writing down all of the things that I’m proud of learning and accomplishing in 2020. Next I’m looking again at my WHY and writing down all the ways that I want to serve others through my life’s work in 2021. Then I’m going to eat lobster and watch trash TV. How are you spending your New Years Eve?
Let’s spread a little good news! I’ll start: 1️⃣ I experienced neighbors looking after each other in the MOST beautiful way!! (P.S. this has always been a dream of mine) 2️⃣ I got to spend precious time with my 20-something daughters. 3️⃣ I got to go on a road trip across country w/ @allyouneedislovell 4️⃣ I sold more art than ever! (and I’m going to teach more about this in 2021) 5️⃣ I got my groove back! 😉Look out 2021!! Your turn! Share some good news!
If I had to pick one color that represented 2020 for me, it would be PINK...in all it’s various hues. It’s feminine and strong, yet playful and occasionally unexpected. What was your 2020 color?
I have ALWAYS felt this way about Christmas. ✨ Until I didn’t. A few years ago, the Holidays were excruciatingly painful and lonely. But those dark times only served to make today, Christmas Eve, so much sweeter and more precious. My 2 daughters and I are spending our socially distanced Christmas in the snowy mountains of Utah. ✨ As a southern girl, I squeal easily and frequently with delight at the mere sight of snow. The girls and I are stocked up on great food and better wine. We’re laughing at ourselves and each other. We have a little Art project going, are sitting by the fire making plans for 2021, and we occasionally venture out to do some “sliding” because we suck at skiing...all while continuing our lil’ holiday traditions.✨ To say that I am grateful is an understatement. ✨ And I don’t take a bit of this for granted. So to anyone who is feeling the devastation of loss this Christmas, I see you. I know. But please know you won’t always feel this way. Wonderful days filled with joy will return. ✨ This, to me, is the beautiful hope of Christmas. ✨ I’m sending my love to you all. May all your days be merry and bright. ✨✨ Merry Christmas ~ Jodie
There are 4 pillars of all great art. I like to think of it like a 4-legged table. Without all 4 the table isn’t strong and in fact can’t even stand. What are the 4? 1️⃣Distinct Values 2️⃣Cohesive Colors 3️⃣Interesting Composition And ....the MOST important.... 4️⃣ YOU and your unique energy!!! Once you really understand 1st 3, it makes using your energy and voice SO much easier and SO much fun!!! That’s why I created the Color Course for Rebels...to help you express the strongest YOU possible. And it’s on sale now until Dec 25 when you use the code SNOWBALL. If you’re ready to use all the tools in your toolbox, I’m here for you! The link to the course is in my bio. P.S. I’m in the Color Course for Rebels private Facebook group to help you out along the way!
Just when I thought I could not love wrapping presents more...this happened. On the spur of the moment (and a few glasses of wine later), I juushed up my friends Kraft paper packaging. My faves are the abstract Christmas balls. Swipe left to see them. I don’t think I’ll ever buy regular paper again.
