My first cake! 🍰 I’m actually not a big baker (I’m a tad loosey goosey for that level of precision and just generally impatient so I stick to super simple recipes) but I love making things with seasonal ingredients so when I saw this pretty cake on Pinterest by @halfbakedharvest it spoke to me. This one was for my niece’s 2nd birthday today but my nephew has a birthday next weekend and then my brother AND sister the following week so I’m prepared to get my cake baking practice in🍓

Jess + Travis’ open barn wedding was a highlight from our 2019 season 💕 together, we had come up with and decided on a completely different design scheme for them but after having a meeting at their house to confirm everything I realized how much they both lovvved their house plants so I threw out a ‘late in the game’ idea to do potted plants on the tables instead. I loved that they went for this idea because it suited their venue so perfectly but mostly was so representative of them as a couple. As a bonus, these also doubled as takeaway gifts for their guests! Bride: @jessundecided Photography: @picjager Planning: @vowandco

The temperatures are dropping tomorrow so I’m looking forward to planting some of the garden beds at our house 🎉 I dug out everything over the last few weeks (so it’s looking v. bare now) but held off planting last week because it was so hot and I juuuust don’t trust my watering abilities 🤷🏻♀️😂 Pictured is the front yard I designed for my sister and brother-in-law last year and it was just planted last summer 🌿 We went for super massed out blocks of planting and big concrete steps to compliment the architecture of their modern house but also made sure that the plants felt super lush to soften the landscape at the same time. That plant grouping in front is a long row of fountain grass that goes all the way across the front of their property...it’s pretty cool and I’m excited to see it all in bloom this fall!
Fresh from the garden 🌸🌸🌸
