I am SO excited to announce today’s website launch! 🎉🎊 Congratulations to @JamieLynnPhotography14 for the launch of your wholly revamped website. Jamie Lynn Photography is a newborn photographer in Midland and Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, specializing in taking high-quality heirloom photography. While she had a website in place, it simply was not doing her justice. Now, her completely rebranded and revamped website showcases her newest maternity, newborn, and child photography. It was an absolute pleasure working with Jamie. Although we hadn’t ever met before this project, it was like chatting with a longtime friend in every conversation. She’s completely open and down-to-earth, and her passion for photography shines through! Be sure to stop by and show Jamie some love today and congratulate her on her shiny new website. 😘 Shout out (yep, just said that) to @LeesaDykstraDesigns for her fantastic custom logo, branding, and custom @Squarespace website design! You rocked it, as usual!

Honestly, I’ve written at least a dozen posts about what’s been happening, and none of it seems like enough. Every day, I sit at my keyboard and type out what I want to say, but it is never enough. So, I delete it all and just keep reading and watching everything that is going on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m choosing to post now, not as a delayed response, but to help push the conversation further. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In our home, we’re having daily conversations with each other and with our son about everything that is happening and how we can do better. Because of the last two weeks and the conscious effort to just shut up and listen, I’ve learned that I’ve got so much left to learn and to teach to the next generation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m still here, watching, listening, learning, and teaching. #KeepTheConversationGoing

Alright, everyone, I NEED more space! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It seems like no matter what I do, I can't keep my space clutter-free. I've got planners, pens, files, plants, and even trinkets on my desk (mom life)! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not only that, but I also homeschool in the SAME area that I work. We actually have a desk we pull up next to my desk. So we've got books, books, craft supplies, a sewing machine, books, music lessons, art lessons, and... books. LOL. But it seems like, by about lunchtime, I can't find ANYTHING on either desk and I'm frustrated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My thought it so trade-in my trusty office desk for a fancy dining room table and build some bookshelves on either side underneath the table (and on the wall). Does anyone use a dining room table for a desk? It just seems like even the executive desks aren't long enough (and the little dude can't easily sit on the other side and work with me.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you think? Am I crazy?! I feel like a dining room table gives us both space to spread out! Do you have a desk you love and can help a girl out? I've legitimately lost several nights of sleep over this, lol.

100%! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all go through highs and lows - even well-established businesses! And, despite what you may be seeing in your social media business owner groups, this isn't a time of success for every business. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You may be struggling with whether to re-open. You may have concerns about that expansion opportunity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Take a beat and think about what you really want. Are you on a path that you'd fight for every day of forever? Would you love what you're doing and keep doing it even on the bad months? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Find out what you really want and do THAT, but don't let doubt make the decision for you.

It's Memorial Day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As the spouse of a Soldier and the daughter of an Airman and the granddaughter of a Sailor, I've never quite understood why we say Happy Memorial Day! There really isn't anything happy about it, is there? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, while you enjoy your day off (if it even matters anymore with the chaos in the world), your bbq and the unofficial start of summer, take a moment and remember the military service members that made the ultimate sacrifice for your freedom. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you feel the need to thank someone, find a gold star family, the family members that were left behind. Or, stop and visit a cemetery like this one. You can thank a Veteran because most of them have lost someone they hold close and it could have just as easily been them (but they'll all tell you the day isn't about them because they're still standing). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, our family will say an extra prayer, gather around the grill with a couple of cold ones, and tell our favorite memories of those that can't be with us in person today.

Does anyone else still believe in the pinky promise? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I do! And I've never broken one yet!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also believe that a person should stand by their word because to me, your word means something. No pinky promise necessary! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is especially true in business. I get it. Sometimes, life gets messy and things get off track; it happens! Finish it anyway! You owe it to your client to do what you said you would, even if it's a little behind schedule. We're all human, but we have to make the choice to be good humans.

I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I wanted to get better at meditating. I'm still working on it, but it IS improving. Controlling your brain is hard, y'all! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you meditate, where is your favorite meditation spot?
