What a day was had! Pupils immersed themselves in life in the trenches by preparing a genuine “Trench stew” using wartime rations. From chopping the vegetables to sampling the finished product, the experience brought history to life and helped them understand the realities of rationing and the challenging conditions soldiers and civilians faced.
They showed amazing enthusiasm and creativity making a truly memorable experience!
Well done Y6, a great start to the term!

What an amazing project! The Anderson shelters look so authentic. I’m really impressed by the effort put into making them so realistic. I loved seeing all the unique details, especially the use of materials. The pupils should be so proud of their amazing work and dedication. Well done to everyone who completed the project!

Year 5 had a blast immersing ourselves in The Highwayman today. We made our own tricorn hats, tied red ribbons in our hair in the image of Bess and even practised our forest school knowledge of knots to “tie up” Bess. It left us with a sparkle in our eyes but also helped us understand the difficulty the characters face in our new text. @ldbslat

Year 1 were full of awe and wonder at the transformation in pocket park. The ice cold ground, frost and snow settled, questions about the pond water, fish and tadpoles kept us very busy. We used our brains to ask wondrous questions and simply be filled with joy in nature. @ldbslat
