Every election whether it be presidential, local or national MATTERS. It’s important to exercise your right to vote. It’s a liberty we can not default on. I’m glad to be partnering up with amazing brands like @bananarepublic that care about the importance of voting. They have teamed up with #Rockthevote to spread awareness about voter registration. Make sure you’re registered and ready to go. So you too can vote in style in the coming months! #VotingIsYourVoice #ad

I've been partnering with @StitchFix for years now. The relationship I have built with them over the years is nothing short of authentic, blissful and fun. They have taken me to their HQ in San Francisco, providing some of the dopest clothing I have ever owned. Along with introducing me to brands I have never heard of before. But what I love most about them is their consciousness to be vocal during a time where many Black Americans feel unsure about a lot in this country. So when they asked me what does being Black in fashion mean to me? I had to answer and I had to answer FAST! The thing most people don't realize is that many Black Americans don't have a safe space in time of conflict. Myself (having a father that has been in law enforcement for over 30 years) I have always felt uneasy/uncomfortable with my interactions with police. My father had the "talk" with me when I started driving. His talk paid off for me but my white friends that were always with me in the car were so relaxed and would question why I was being so cautious. I realized around the age of 17 that the way I dressed was one of the only things that made me feel confident and secure. Fashion to me isn't just clothing, it's my armor........it's my chainmail. So being Black in fashion means more to me than what meets the eye. It means that I'm able to be a representation of something I never had growing up and share my own knowledge, advice and thoughts about fashion to others. It's important to me because growing up the only Black male figure I ever saw in fashion ads was Tyson Beckford. Seeing him in those Ralph Lauren ads as a kid gave me life. I didn't realize how important it was for me to see that until I got older. Being who I am in fashion means that Black people are getting the representation they deserve. Now when someone is strolling through IG they can see people that look like them wearing clothing they always wanted to wear as well. Now that I have two daughters, having representation is always the top of my list. They see me as a Black man living my dream showing others that being yourself is the important thing you can do in this day in age. #stitchfixinfluencer #ad

Dear Black Man, You’re not an animal. You’re not a savage. You’re not what the media paints you out to be. You’re not a stereotypical societal false standard that white America has deemed you to be over centuries of hate and injustice. You’re not a slave. You’re not a threat by wearing a hoodie. You’re not a threat for running in a neighborhood. You’re not a threat for breaking up a fight between others. You’re not a threat for simply existing. You’re beautiful. You’re strong. You’re kind. You’re loving. Most importantly you’re a human. You’re a son. You’re a father. You’re a brother. You’re a friend. You mean a lot to many people. Wear that damn hoodie. Smile bright and continue to fight this good fight. I will be with you every step of the way ✊🏾💪🏾👌🏾 #blackboyjoy #blackmensmiling #theblackmancan #loveyourself

#Ad This pandemic has taken a toll on many families. My daughters and I go on walks quite often to get out of the house. While we are walking we like to write positive affirmations on the sidewalks in our neighborhood as a way of showing positivity and giving hope to our community during this difficult and uncertain time. We love giving back to our community in any way we can! That’s why I love the message from @Truist and @UnitedWay around making lasting changes in the community. Dare to care! We are all in this together. I'm excited to partner with @Truist to highlight how we as a family give back to our precious community during this pandemic! Check out my stories for more information on how we are caring for our community. #LiveUnited #TruistCares💜
