👑🖤Wild ONE🖤👑 . . Happy Birthday Lukey Bear! He was our first kid to actually eat icing without thinking it was gross. Check my stories to see, it’s sooo cute! Thank y’all for being such great IG aunties and uncles. We appreciate the love. 🥰
Luke is living proof that God knows what I need even when I don’t. . I got all emo this morning and his daddy called me phony because I was completely pissed when we found out I was carrying Luke.🤣 I can only laugh because every time he laughs, or snuggles with me or does his happy food dance, it’s truly a reminder that God is still God. I spent weeks crying/sulking, trying to wrap my mind around becoming a mother of three. I didn’t know how we’d do it but Lukey has literally been the perfect peace to our family puzzle. Yes, I meant peace. I seriously can’t imagine our world without him in it. . You are your Bubbees bestie. Your Sissy’s baby and Mommy & Daddy’s favorite surprise. Your little life is constantly the gift that keeps on giving; for us and for everyone who has been around you. . Happy 1st Birthday Luke James, we love you more than words could explain! 💙 (Newborn spam because I realized I never shared these.) If you haven’t read his birth story, it’s a good one, link in bio.
James: Show me how strong you are Lukey. Luke: 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾. . In a world full of kids obsessed with phone and tablet screens, I’ll happily spend all my coins on books for my bookworm (ad with @ReadRiordan). It makes my heart melt to see that little James’ love for reading is rubbing off on Luke already. . James is loving Tristan Strong Punches a Hole In The Sky by Kwame Mbalia. It’s fantasy featuring African American folk heroes and West African gods from the @ReadRiordan team. It’s an action packed but relatable read, complete with snarky narration and characters that look like him. He seriously hasn’t been able to put it down. . How often do you add to your child’s book collection?
Idk who needs to hear this but it’s okay to say to your spouse/partner, to your kids, to mama n dem, your friends... Listen, channel the spirit of auntie Oprah on this. Everybody gets a NO! . Saying no to someone else means that you get say yes to YOU. Being busy is some ridiculous badge of honor that the world has told us we need to seek. It usually goes hand in hand with being run into the ground. Aht aht... we’re not doing that anymore. Being a people pleaser is cool but you have to make sure you are one of those people. . Start paying attention to the way your body feels when you say yes to someone. Do you feel good/at peace or tense and irritated? Instead of saying yes on impulse, get into the habit of asking yourself: “Am I agreeing to this for me?”. . Stop letting yes be your default setting. Learn to choose yourself & say no without feeling bad about it; your mental health depends on it. Happy Monday Stars 🖤
Self care is asking yourself what you need...everyday...and then making sure you receive it.#Ad. . We often talk about self care like it’s some cute little accessory to life. You know? Nail shop, spa visits, candle lit bubble baths...all the things that make for a cute photo on the gram. But self care doesn’t have to be glamorous or expensive. Self care is giving yourself something small but meaningful, like meditating for 3-5 min, to carry you through the day. . When I started using @headspace 2 months ago my anxiety was the worst that it has ever been and it was mostly due to making time for everything and everyone but myself. I was in the midst of adjusting to the kids being back at school, James going back to traveling and my content schedule getting busier by the day. I remember one night, after getting the kids to bed, I still had a todo list that was 10 miles long. . As I was thinking about all that I needed to do my chest got tight, my shoulders got heavy and my breathing started to pick up. If you've ever had a panic attack then I'm sure you can relate to panicking at the thought of having a panic attack, so you have one anyway. I sat in the floor, started to cry and picked up my phone to look at the time. There was a head space notification there and it asked How is your breathing right now? I laugh/cried and decided to open the app. I ended up going through one of the cycles and actually meditated myself to sleep... BUT it was the best sleep I had gotten in a while. . Using Headspace has helped me to remember that it's okay to pause everything around me to get myself together. Self-care can be a real challenge as we juggle families, careers and side hustles ...and we can always use a reminder to stop and smell the roses. Are you ready to let #headspace help you take better care of yourself?
Hi my name is Tina and I sweat like a man... you guys said I could share anything with you right? #DovePartner. . Naturally I put on weight during my pregnancy with Luke and it seems like sweating excessively is part of my new normal. I’m not just talking sweating when I work out. The slightest uptick in activity means I’m going to be a sweaty mess…running errands for work, chasing the kids around the house, cooking dinner, you name it. . Getting ready for a night out with James is where I draw the line, so I decided to try @Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant for the last week to see it if would hold better than other brands. One week was all I needed and I’m hooked. It’s super moisturizing, my under arms are smoother and it provides 48-hour odor and wetness protection. . Have you tried @Dove Deodorant? Would you be willing to try it for 7 days to see if you love it as much as I do? #SwitchToDove
