We had an amazing day at The Championships Wimbledon (despite the downpour! 🌧️). We wished good luck to the players entering Centre Court and are our snacks on the infamous hill. The strawberries and cream were delicious! The Southern Village Entertainment Centre was great fun. 🎾🏆🍓

A group of year 5s recently travelled to the BFI to watch the movie they produced with Heyday. The movie ‘Raiders of the Lost Property’ tells the curse of the lost property pile and one unlucky girl who was swallowed by the nameless pile of clothes. Will they ever brake the curse and free the innocent girl?

The house garden has had a revamp! Ex-pupil Caleb (now Horticulturist at Kew Gardens) and the Eco-Council worked together to redesign the garden. The children asked lots of questions about each plant and discovered lots of creepy crawlies living in the ground 🐛 🪱 Thank you @calebjob for the donations! Swipe to see the before! 🌳 🌿

Year 6 had an informative talk with some visitors from RTK Wandsworth (Responding Together to Knife Crime). They addressed the potential risks of youth violence and talked about ways to stay safe. Children were able to reflect and ask questions throughout the presentation, leaving them feeling empowered and raising their awareness.

Year 4 enjoyed a trip to AFC Wimbledon. They took part in a workshop about respect, had a tournament and a tour around the stadium. Some of us were lucky enough to meet some players and get autographs! They had a great day 😁 ⚽️

Ramadan Mubarak! A huge thank you to Imam Zahir from Gatton Mosque coming to speak to the children about Ramadan and Eid. Some children even stayed in their break time to ask how they could become an Imam when they are older!

Last week the school choir attended the Classical Roadshow at Cadogan Square. It was great hearing members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra perform and the children enjoyed singing the songs we had learned in advance alongside other participating schools. Some even dressed up in the style of the 1940s as the theme of the songs we were singing was the Battle of Britain! 🇬🇧

More world book day celebrations!
1: We had some fantastic costumes where children dressed up as their favourite book or character
2-3: Our Y5 children reading their own picture books to year 2. The children had written, illustrated and published these themselves!
4: Year 5 have been writing letters to the ahrhor Sharna Jackson after reading her book ‘High Rise Mystery’. She kindly agreed to a chat to answer all their questions!
