• Happy Hump Day, time for some #mythbusting.

As actors and creatives we often feel like we have very little control over what happens in our careers. But what if I told you you have WAY more control than you think, especially over the one thing that truly counts?

As actors, we are the product. A quirk very few jobs carry. And the one thing we absolutely have control over is our instrument! It is truly my belief that your health and wellness directly affects everything else you do in life, especially as a creative. If you want to call in all the things you truly desire—the love, the relationships, the opportunities, the experiences, the success, the jobs—focus on your health and wellness. 

We may not have control over how many auditions we get, who else is going in for that same audition, or which jobs we book, BUT we can ensure we are prepared when our opportunity arrives. That we are taking care of ourselves—physically, emotionally, spiritually, creatively. That is our job. That is something we absolutely have control over!

So I challenge you to focus on the things you *can* control this week. 

And when you do that—your life, love and career will begin to flow. 

The universe is cool like that. ✨

I’ll be honest, sometimes I hit a mid-week slump before I even hit mid-week! Already overwhelmed, tired, and maybe even get a little grumpy.

And it can be hard to feel grateful on those days. Even though I still have SO MUCH to be grateful for. 

So, if you’re in my boat, here are three things to be grateful for:

The roof over your head
Modern technology, like cell phones, wifi, and computers to stay connected
Your amazing body, for getting you this far

Since my birthday was a few days ago, I’ve been feeling pretty reflective. So I wanted to make today all about some easy self-care reminders.

It’s OK if your self-care feels indulgent.
It’s OK if your self-care feels boring.
It’s OK if your self-care costs nothing.
It’s OK if you spend money (a little or a lot) on your self-care.
It’s OK if your self-care is spontaneous and on an as-needed basis.
It’s OK if you practice your self-care routine every single day (and I hope you do!)

While I can (and will!) give you all the advice and tips in the world—make sure, at the end of the day, you create a self-care routine that is meaningful, nourishing and rejuvenating to YOU.

And don’t forget to celebrate ALL the things you do to take care of yourself! 

Have you already filed your taxes? I mean, that’s serious #ladyboss action! 
Did you push yourself to do an extra set of reps at the home? Hell yeah! 
Did you skip your workout because you knew you needed to rest and recover? ALSO GREAT.
