Sara tells us that she came to Grier for our Dance Program. She wanted a school that would push her both academically and in dance. She also loves how many electives Grier has to offer, our students don’t have to choose just one interest! At Grier, you can do it all!

It’s that time of the year! Our Junior class participated in a special activity: getting into Hogwarts University! Ms. Barr, Mrs. Hallahan, and Ms. Dunklebarger, helped explain the college admissions process while incorporating the wonderful world of Harry Potter!

Founded in 1853, Grier School is an all-girls boarding and day school for grades 5th - 12th. We offer our students a well-rounded education in academics, arts, and athletics. Maya Lin is an American architect and sculptor concerned with environmental themes who is best known for her design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Our Engineering Club students assisted in a community service STEM project for a local elementary school.

The students showed third-graders how to make ice cream from a bag in 5 minutes. They explained how salt lowers the melting temperature of ice, letting the cream solidify. The more salt you add, the lower the melting temperature. The colder the temperature of the icy solution around the ice cream, the faster the cream freezes. 🍦

The kids also blew up balloons using the chemical reaction from mixing baking soda and vinegar to create CO2.

What a great way to learn about STEM! 👩‍🔬🧬

Grier School Foxes take 1st place at Odyssey of the Mind Regionals! 🥇

The Odyssey of the Mind team traveled to Berwick, PA to compete in the North Central PA Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 1st. Earning the highest score in the spontaneous portion of the competition and second highest score overall for their long-term solution, the team took first place in our region and is heading to the PA State OM Competition in April. Congratulations to team members Aysu A., Jojo C., Angelena M., Nina R., Zoe S., Maddie S., and coach Ms. Dunklebarger. Special thanks to our volunteers Annabelle M. and Amber P. Grier is so proud of your effort, team work, and creativity! Good luck at States!
